3 spots left....make your best guess (updated)

His just released top 2 are OSU and TAMU. Don't think we land him. Reed just committed to the Gators over Bama, so take him off your board too.

I think:
Berry x 2
Mosley
Malone

Reed didn't just commit to UF. He committed to them in February and signed but didn't make the grades and had to go back to JUCO for a semester. He's set to be an EE in this '14 class and UT currently leads.

I think this class is already full. Silent commits will anonunce as damage control in a loss. The "Big Fish" is on board right now, IMO.

Recent USCe commit. So, no Reed (FL) or Lamin, and Gennessey has UT out of his top 2. These guys are all unlikely at this point. We really need Charles Mosley.

Lamin is listening to UT and set to OV for the auburn game. He's good friends with lambert who's trying to get him to become a Vol. Lamin is #1 on the UT staffs JUCO DT board because he's an EE and has 3 years left to play. UT is still very much a factor despite his commitment to USC in the summer.

What are we going to talk about from now till signing day? Generally we talk about swaying some top talent ...that has not happened much or how much potential some other recruits are showing with only a handful committed. This year I feel like butch knows almost every piece of the puzzle and it's 4 months till signing day. Congrats Coach, Ive always been pumped to be a VOL,this is special!:rock:
Oh yeah Berry Berry Malone

2015 and 2016 recruiting (especially QBs), bowl practices, how EEs are progressing in workouts, Spring practice and position projections coming out of this season, continued facility upgrades, etc.

But, to your point, it certainly feels different having this many commits. Can't recall so many top recruits being locked down by UT this early in the process since maybe the 90s.

If he shows up for the visit and the staff has not already taken another Juco DT, I think he is ours. Just have a feeling Lambert seals the deal for us here.

just my opinion, I think Gennessy is high on the coaching staffs board because they know how young the O-line is going to be next year. And he's going to have to replace somebody so that was my stab. I wasn't high on Ray when he committed and got bashed for it.
Nonsense. Raulerson isn't going anywhere. A number of recruits will be asked to look elsewhere before he does. The fact that you "aren't high on him" is irrelevant.

love how the coaches are recruiting.this class has size and speed.wonder how many will see the field next year.

My bad, must have missed that.

A lot will in order for us to be competitive against great teams by 2015. Our nickel CB, WLB, DT, RB, TE, OT, DE, and MLB spots all could see freshman/RS freshman either starting or playing major mins in.

This time next year, I could see up to 10 players from this class starting or in the two-deep:

Lambert
Pearson
Blair
Weatherd
Hurd
Gaulden
Helm
Kelly
Bates
Moseley (for his speed)

This is a forum, forums are for people to post opinions. This is my opinion. And let me ask you this, if Butch Jones has continued to recruit JUCO o-lineman and Hubbs has said that the staff want at least one more, but Butch has said 30 is his number doesn't that mean someone is not going to make it?

You're entitled to your opinion. But you are also part of the greater Vol team. You can't put up billboard material for competing recruiters. The 1st Amendment is not a suicide pact.

What's interesting to me is no JUCOs on the back end. Staff must feel pretty confident in the guys on campus and the high school guys we've got committed in the secondary.

Uhh I see a goose egg of Defensive Lineman on that list.....as depleted as we will be, expect to see
Lambert, Barnett, Hendrix, Henderson all to receive plenty of snaps

Pretty close but no. Notre Dame got 1, I think Vandy got 2. But I think Malone's commit would give us 6 of the top 10 in the state. Not bad for a first year coach, having a .500 season, coming off of the nightmare of the last 3 years and considering the damage with HS coaches left him that he's working to cleanup and repair.

Hurd is the best player in Tennessee. He's All-Vol. Bars is one of the top 5 in the state and headed to notre dame(legacy). Other than that the Vols have gotten anyone they wanted with the exceptions of Malone and Mosley who are undecided.

When do EE's have to commit by?

I'm excited for that date, since it looks like half the class is EE. That'll cut out a lot of speculation, and a lot of the JUCOs will then be off the board.

Berry brothers won't count towards the number of players they sign because big brother Eric is paying for their tenure at UT

Forgive me if I'm nieve, but is this still the trolling joke, or does it have legs to it cause I'm seeing everyone mentioning it. I obviously assume it's just the troll joke.

There will be a lot more than 3 recruits over and above what is committed now. Probably closer to 8.

What a pleasant problem to have. So counter to what has happened the last a half dozen years. This isn't picking sides for dodge ball in primary school by a long shot.

The Berry's are in - we just don't know how. We know there are probably two more DT's. We know Chris James is coming in and is a take, or Scott if he warmed up. We know they are still after McClendon. We know they are still working on Malone and Lauderdale. We know they will make room for Garrett. Yet - there are others still visiting and talking. Wow. I have no doubts they have it all analyzed in terms of how they accommodate, but it sure looks tight like some guys are potential gray shirts or contingents.
