Auburn was left in much better condition than UT.I'd say Mullen too seeing as what they had to work with.
Yes, I love Kiffin too but it's amazing how many fan boys think he was number one. Wasn't the junior or senior class ranked #3 in the country when they were recruited? Auburn and Mississippi State don't even know what a #3 class looks like.
Mullen
Chizik
Kiffin

I don't know about that. Everyone thought Crompton would be the only problem prior to the season. I saw people predicing 8-10 regular season wins saying it's possible Florida and Bama would be the only loss. I would say they were left in equal condition and Auburn basically beat Tennessee by two scores. Tennessee's last touchdown was a garbage touchdown in the final season that meant nothing. I think Auburn had pulled some of their starters too.

I'd say Chizik walked into the best situation. He took a 5-7 team to 7-5. Lane did the same with what I feel was a worse hand. Mullen took a 4-8 team to 5-7. They've all still obviously got work to do.
Auburn hadn't pulled their starters. As for the condition of the teams, Auburn didn't have an offensive line comprised of non-scholarship athletes. The Tigers weren't chocked full of superstars, but their roster wasn't devoid of players in key positions the way UT's was.
Also, if you're considering who developed the team better, Auburn started off 5-0 and finished 2-5.
Iowa also plays in a trash conference and is irrelevant.
