• QB Mike Glennon is a fifth-year senior. With the departure of Russell Wilson to Wisconsin, Glennon felt a lot of pressure when he took over the position last season. He completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 3,054 yards and 31 touchdowns.

• Glennon's offensive line returns four players who have combined for 96 career starts. "It helps my mother sleep better at night," Glennon said.

• Tennessee will throw the ball a lot. N.C. State returns its entire secondary, led by junior cornerback David Amerson, who led the nation with 13 interceptions. No other player in FBS had more than eight. "It is very difficult to throw against these guys," Glennon said. "David is a first-round draft choice."

You do realize those are all valid points. Tennessee hasn't proven ANYTHING except that our QB is not a leader and our coach cannot win many games.


I do hope that they both turn the perception around. I miss my team being good.

You could interchange Bray and Glennons name for point 2.
For point 3 yes we throw it a lot. Yes they have a good secondary. We have however arguably the best wr core in the nation.

Weak from Barnhart imo.

The first two reasons are pretty weak. I've seen fifth-year seniors that were terrible QBs (hello, first five games of 2009 Crompton) and Tennessee's offensive line has just as many career starts (and returns all five starters) as NC State's. The third can be backed up, but who do they have past Amerson?

LOL No they're not, Debbie Downer. (except maybe the last one). Amerson is very good, but his stats are blown our of proportion.

I hope they keep thinking we're going to throw it a lot. I could see us winning that game by running it down their throat.

When was it PROVEN that Tyler Bray wasn't a leader? When he threw beer bottles at cars? Is Ray Lewis a leader? I'll let you figure the rest of that out.

It's been PROVEN Dooley can't win many games? Was it when he coached a roster that was more of a joke than any reason for optimism, and then 3 of his best players get hurt, one more is booted from the team and it's now a proven fact that he can't get it done. Shut your mouth if your going to taint my reading space with ignorant drivel. Prepare your rock to hide under when Dooley puts it together with his players from his highly touted classes that he managed to sign even though we would've celebrated a win over a pop Warner team with a Gatorade shower and some tickle torture.

I think it's going to be a tougher game than most expect.

I expect our Vols to get the Win but they'll have to play really good football and Bray will have to be careful or he'll throw too many INT's against those DB's that are all ballhawks.

N C State has 1 all American superstar but the other guys play good D too and will take chances to get a pick if they see the opportunity.

I'll be happy with a Win even if it's only by 1 point.

We need a tough game to force our footVols to ban together and really fight and scrap and bind as a solid team so that our 3rd game against floriDUHHH will also be a big Win and send a message to everyone else that Tennessee football is back on track.

Starting 3-0 might get us back in the top 25 but if we go 4-0 by beating the UGa bullFrawgs then we're definately back in the top 20 and on a serious roll that could turn into a magical season with the confidence and momentum those 4 Wins could give our guys.
