I'm just wondering if these were the same comments made last year when UT lost to a 4-8 team without it's two starting QB's? It's funny what a win over a team that was not even D-1 in 2008 means to fans. Now, Tennessee fans think they are Florida after one win? Wow, Myopia at it's best. No way a blow out is in the cards and UCLA will have a legitimate shot at the win. It will be a close game regardless.
And where is this real competition in the SEC coming from? Florida and Alabama are very good this year but everyone else is average to slightly above (and that is the case most years where only 3 teams are legitimate powers while the rest are middle of the road or horrible as in MSU, Kentucky, Vandy etc.). The SEC also has more teams than most conferences so they have more opportunities to succeed record wise every year. That does not mean the SEC is the holy grail. After Florida (clearly the class of the league after dominating it two of the last 3 seasons), who would even sniff a shot at a BCS title game this year???
I would take USC, CAL, ASU, Oregon St and UCLA against the top 5 SEC teams (Florida, Bama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee) any day of the week on a "neutral site" at the end of the year. The second worst team in the Pac-10played LSU tough and out gained them for cryin out loud.
