3 players arrested late last night

I want to hear details before I start throwing kids under the bus. At first blush, it sounds like typical stupid college kid behavior.
I dont need any details at all. First they are underage at a club drinking at 3 am. Second, If they had enough energy to go to a club at 3 in the morning they must not have left it all on the field. Piss-poor judgement by all 3. And they are young men not just kids, there lies the problem we are so quick to just pass it off as "oh they're just kids" then we do them no favors in the accountability column.

Suspend them for the next game - that's the one that matters. That would be sufficient and appropriate IMHO.

They should be suspended for the rest of the season. I hate all this "well, they're just college kids" crap. I went to college and never got arrested. I mean, how do you manage to get arrested for disorderly conduct at a pizza joint at 3:00 in the morning?

i went to college and did A LOT of underage drinking, and never got arrested. i understand they were upset but they just took something bad and made it worse.

Dear UT football players,

Please go to Pilot sober, buy two or three 12 packs, GO HOME and drink on your couch.

Sincerely,

Weren't they arrested at a pizza joint instead of a club? I think we all did underage drinking in college. A pizza and a pitcher of beer at 3 Am sounds good to me. If these kids weren't atheletes, it never makes the news. They need to be suspended for the Arky game, not kicked off for the year. That's overkill. Now if there was a pattern with the 3 of them, and they had done this before, then kick them off. However, it's like giving someone the death penalty for getting a speeding ticket. Quit being holier than thou. We have all done it, or the majority of us anyways. The pizza place needs some culpability here too. Do they not check ID? Fine the shat out of them and take their beer license away for a month. Remember, it takes two to tango.

Wow. That certainly is different than a pizza joint. If they were at a club then partying then they need to be suspended for the last 3 games. If they wanted to fight so badly why didn't they fight a little harder against LSU?

They should all get a game suspension. More wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. You get caught breaking the law and you got to pay your dues. That includes taking a game or so off because that is a privilege, not a right.

hmmmm it will be interesting what Fulmer does with this. My only question is this what are they doing out in a club after they just lost a heartbreaking game?

Yes , they were arrested, according the the news that keeps flashing across the bottom of the screen on regional NFL coverage, seems like every 30 minutes.Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.:bash:

If this was Florida, Fulmer could wait until after the Arkansas game to suspend them. Claim an appeal.

We've come along way as a program, this was a little shoving match and underage drinking, several years ago wasn't Dale Carter arrested for waving a gun around outside one of the dorms.

Fulmer needs to suspend them for the season, he's got to send a message on what will be tolerated especially in-season.

There is no reason why young men under 21 or over really, should be at at the Good Fella's night club or any other club at 3am ever. Bad things happen at that time and at that type of place.

Not passing judgement, because I've been that age out at 3am, at a club and I know exactly what I was doing.

If they couldn't sleep, they needed to go watch film and help solve our running game issues.

Fulmer needs to bring the hammer down. Yes most people drink underage but, most folks don't get arrested. It isn't too much to ask of your players. "please avoid going to jail."

Agree ,Foster looked tentaive running last night.

It was like he was taking half steps, and pitter patting to the line of scrimmage

Everyone's talking about how these poor young athletes were upset by a defeat and went to a pizza joint. Boo-Hoo and what a load of crap.
Good Fellas is not a frat bar on the strip, but a ghetto pizza joint on the corner of Keith and Western. The place is not known for its hand tossed pizza, but the number of known drug dealers selling their goods in plain sight. Thugs and Drugs.
So stop pampering these guys. They probably went there because it's the only place they could get served underage, assuming they weren't there for the drugs.
Fulmer needs to man up and suspent these players. If he doesn't start showing some cahones with these "Thug" players and send a message, Tennessee will be known again for our arrest record, not our win record...
...and rightfully so.

How quick we all seem to forget how we hammered the bammers for not suspending a player after getting arrested. How we made assumptions after a florida player was mysteriously re-instated before a big game (By the way he has been kicked off the team as of last night). Auburn suspended their best linebacker for six games, for what???? UNDERAGE DRINKING!!! We have come a long way from two years ago, I don't want to fall back into that, I THOUGHT we were a better "FAMILY" than that. I was there last night, when all my LSU friends that came up wanted to go to the strip and party, I knew last night wasn't the night to do it. I am a grown man, not a young person under the spotlight, that has everything given to him because of his talents. He OWES it to the team, the university, Alumni, and supporters to be a representative of what we are all on this board to support......THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, you know the place that is paying for his education.

All this said, no you don't drag this out and suspend them for the Kentucky game. You don't sit them down for the season. YOU TAKE AWAY THEIR SCHOLARSHIP. If they are not resposible enough to handle themselves, why should we fund their free ride. Let them walk on in the spring and prove their maturity.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but taking away their scholarships would be unprecedented, excessive and just wrong. These kids don't have a history of this that I know of, and young people make mistakes. You're not one of those, "Knock a kid over the head when he spills his milk" people, are you? I think a one game suspension would be appropriate for now, and if any of them f*** up again, lower the boom.

Sorry guys, but drunk in public (tate salad style) warrants nothing more than a one game suspension at most. If only UT could do it Urban Meyer style, and make it for the UK game.

I think everyone is getting a little carried away.

All of you do realize that Kentucky and Tennessee used to play for a keg of Bourbon, right?

Fulmer should use this opportunity to point out how ridiculous the drinking age laws in America are.
