3 permanent rivals

Divisions are going away. Also no "pods". Both of these issues were decided at the spring meetings in May. It's either going to be 3 permanents and rotate the remaining 12, 6 one and 6 the next, OR have 1 permanent and rotate the remaining 14, 7 one year and 7 the next.
I had not read that, thanks for the info.
I think I like the 3 and 6, but I know a lot will be pushing for an 8 game schedule instead.

Do you know how they decide who goes to the SECCG? Is it simply two best records?

Yep, best records. Not sure exactly how the tie breakers work. Head to head obviously, don't know after that. Maybe CFP ranking.

I would presume (if it’s a fair system) that a 3+ team tiebreaker would include a “has any of these teams lost to one or more of the other teams” type of tiebreaker. Then, if there are still 3 or more teams after that, it would probably default to things records against common opponents (if applicable), conference opponents’s overall conference win-loss records, CFP rankings, etc (really, though, for fairness, the CFP rankings should generally be lower on the tiebreaker scale anyway, if they’re really even used at all).

The 2013 SEC season works as a decent application: the SEC regular season ended with 3 11-1 teams, each having 7-1 conference records: Alabama (11-1, 7-1), Auburn (11-1, 7-1), Missouri (11-1, 7-1). Since two of the 3 teams (Auburn and Alabama) played and Auburn beat Alabama, Alabama would be eliminated, leaving Auburn (7-1) and Missouri (7-1) as the final two teams.

With OU and Texas coming in 2024. The better question would be, which teams would one like to see realigned to ensure rivalries remain. A smart commissioner would realign the conference, moving Alabama and Auburn to the East. That way TN and UGA keep their rivalries going with Bama and Auburn. Kick Mizzou to the West, giving each division 8 teams for inter division play and one cross division game. Geographically it makes sense.

Would the SEC offices also go ahead and buy LSU a condominium in Atlanta at that point?
