We also had a dropped TD by MM, CB BS pass interference called back, and another deep ball on Staley plus the muffed punt return. The game wasn’t close other than some player mistakes and bad calls.

A win is a win. You guys act like we lost. That was a 4-0 SEC team with a good coach. They'll only get better. It was on the road and we came out on top. Just like we lost a close one at home to the Dawgs. Candy beat Bama last year. CJH knows what we need to work on and will focus on thtose things and get them shored up going forward.

The O-line is playing lights out!
The holes are there, these backs are not always hitting them.
Plenty of times there will be a huge hole on the left and the back will cut right. Outside will be contained perfectly and the back cuts it inside.
The reads are not there and I think these backs lack vision, at this point.
If Sampson had this O-line last year...

Yeah...CJH promoted from within when we lost our special teams coordinator after last season. He is in his 1st year, but Hype brought in an NFL special teams coach to help him. Specials have been poor all season other than the punt unit which routinely places the ball at the 10yd line or inside.

The guy we lost was arguably the best in the SEC. Our specials have been extremely good under CJH. Hopefully this new guy gets it together soon in his 1st year on the job. The kicker sucking azz, losing the UGA game for us, and shanking a FG again from inside the 50yd line really isnt coaches fault. Thats on Gilbert himself. The 3 fumbled punts by 2 different guys is definitely half coach and half on Boo/Staley. Giving up that fake punt on 4th and 8 is inexcusable. That should never happen again. The defense/return team was completely surprised which is why it worked. I played ball through HS, and played on special teams...that should never, ever happen. Never. Ever.

We need to show the new coach some grace though IMO. The dropped punts back there put so much pressure on him and so much focus on the returner that MSU coaches cleverly knew it was a good time to fake one. Good job by them. Hopefully we tighten up the punt return game and Gilbert pulls his head out of his butt before he loses us another game like UGA. If he made that FG in regulation vs MSU, we don't have to go into overtime at all. Thankfully their kicker shanked one as well...

Our defense will never have good numbers with our offense being able to score so quickly. They are on the field a lot. The way the Miss St game played out our defense was on the field almost the entire first quarter.

Normally I would disagree but I cannot now. I am absolutely baffled as to why this defense has fallen so far so fast. Supposed to be the most talented team in the Heupel era. I am now calling the Vandy game into question.

A defense that sacks the Qb as much as we do and Create as much negative plays as we do is not “atrocious”… most of the points we gave up today was more of the offenses fault and special teams… defense is still athletic and physical it’s just leaky and we gave up more on the ground than I thought… but a win is a win.

This is a reasonable take. I didn't think we would win going in. It was really atrocious pi calls and wtf tip drill interceptions thst kept msu in the game.

I was guilty of this same 'fuggit i'm done' mindset on Sat. So before you think i'm grandstanding i'm not.
