I know it's the summer dead period but I'm on vacation this week in wild dunes resort in charleston sc, and I'm seeing more power t's and big orange wear than any other football programs combined! All the big orange got me thinking. It's only a little more than 3 months vol fans, til we converge on Peyton manning pass for the first vol walk of 2011, only 3 months til we go through gate 21 and smell the petros. Only 3 months til we here "it's football time in Tennessee" then shortly after that toe meets leather and the pads pop. It gives me goosebumps to think about spurriors visor hitting the neyland turf on a chilly October night . In closing it will be here before we know it and Go Vols!!

I am unbelievably stoked after reading this!! :) I'm proud to hear of the ones who are as excited as I am for the season to be underway! and to hear that the BIG ORANGE fans are faithfully representing their beloved team!! :D

I occasionally see fans here in this little ole town wear Bama and Auburn stuff and it absolutely infuriates me!! It tickles me to hear that we have fans in enemy territory.

I cannot wait for this moment. This is easily, undisputably, the greatest dang football tradition in the LAND. Man i'm fired up!!!!!!!!

I always smell a combination of booze, smoked tobacco, and beer when I enter the stadium.

You must be in the last pocket of resistence because I live in the Charleston area and all I see are Gamecock logos and script A's around town. I used to see T's everywhere until around 2005...

You are right next to me, I live on Sullivan's Island!:hi:

Charleston/Isle of Palms is a very popular vacation destination for East Tennesseeans as it is the closest beach in driving time from Knoxville and the Tri Cities.(head straight down 26 from TN and you are here in less than 6 hrs.)

I see lots of tourist in town from Tennessee...obvioulsy the local population is dominated by Cocks and Clemson folks...but I say UGA comes in third followed by the Vols.

Gotta love the Charleston area AKA paradise.:good!:

I lived in Charleston from '97-'04. I absolutely love that place. Isle of Palms, Sullivan's, Folly Beach, Kiawah...man, that's livin'!

Now I'm in North Cuba. Granted the women are hot as hell down here but give me Coastal Carolina any day.

Talk about humidity...I bet it is terrible down there!

IOP rocks...was there 2 years ago, and everyday I wore Big Orange. I was amazed at how many people I passed that would say "Go Big Orange"...

2 of the hottest places I've been to are Columbia, SC and downtown Charleston on a summer afternoon. My office was on King St. and it is very steamy during the summer. South FL is hot and humid but really no worse than SC....maybe I'm just used to it.

New Orleans, LA in mid-August on a streetcar with no A/C helps you realize why seersucker was ever made into a suit.

I live out in Arizona, PAC 10 country. I travel throughout the United States teaching classes to the Army units that are deploying. Where ever I go I proudly wear my Vols hat. I hear comments from all sorts of football fans, mainly SEC brethern in the south and Texas fans. I constantly remind them of our rich history and that we are climbing back to the top. I tell them about the awe inspiring scene of the sea of orange and over a 100k people singing Rocky Top. I tell these people that this is the closest experience to getting that holy feeling outside of church. Even though I live in Arizona I will come back home to see the Vols play in the best college football stadium in college football.
