Clay Travis was also on News Channel 5's (Nashville) Sports segment last night. He emphatically stated he would take Franklin over Dooley! He said that Franklin had lots of energy and had Vandy going in the right direction. He secretly has a crush on Franklin (all homo)! You have to take what he says with a grain of salt! He does it for the ratings. He is a tool but on occasion can be entertaining.

I listen to the show sometimes. I make sure I do not support any of the sponsors as long as they have Clay. Clay is all about Clay. He has no knowledge of the game at all.

Clay was roasting Dooley today. I swear he trolls this site, has too, most of his subject matter gets discussed on here daily.

He's good at his job obviously because you guys are starting threads about him. It's a sports talk radio show host's job to create controversy and to work up the conversation. If you were easily swayed and in the middle about every issue you'd lose listeners and people wouldn't be getting worked up on message boards. Not necessarily the best but often the most popular sports personalities are polarizing if not always knowledgeable. Take his opinion for what it is and relax...pretty sure Dave Hart doesn't care what he says.

This is the same guy that said "students were stepping over dead bodies on the way to school" when he thought schools were let back too early after the Nashville floods.

You can be a sideshow with this technique. After a while, it gets old and no one wants to listen. If he went about this campaign in an reasonable manner, people might be intrigued and not just shocked and he would be better off in the long run.

I like the show but when he speaks I often turn the station because he is so annoying. Hope they eventually drop him.

It is stupid for him to conclude that CDD can't get t done based on such a small sample. HOWEVER, it is equally dumb to not have at least some doubt at this point. I am disappointed that we got outplayed by two very mediocre East teams while healthy. We simply were not ready.

Only time will tell, but there are reasons for skepticism right now (and review my posts, beacause I like CDD and want him to succeed).

I get the dislike for Clay, even though I like him and think he's entertaining. But why all the hate for 104.5? With their recent addition by subraction of Plaster and Daunic, they have become much more pro-UT. With them being the flagship station for UT in Middle TN, I feel like it was a smart and necessary move on their part, and it has made me listen more. Withrow and Hutton do a really good job in the afternoons now.

Man, I was listening when you called in. And yes, he did cut you off. He has a completely different view of "bare cupboard" than me. He said that we didn't have a bare cupboard because we won 6 games last year. We're supposed to beat the teams from other conferences; especially the smaller conferences. We do have talent on this team, but not compared to the other elite teams in the SEC. You made some great points and he just blew them off.

As someone else stated, he just does this for ratings. He supposedly is a UT fan, but sometimes he don't sound like it......

While I don't agree with him at least Clay wants the Vols to do well. Everyone on 990 AM here in Knoxville I don't think could care less if the Vols won or lost.
