Out in Orange County these are all the rage. So my wife just ordered for both of is the 3 day juice cleanse from nektar.

6 juices a day for 3 days. I added a protein since I'll workout so I'll have one day w 7.

150 a person. Normally 190 but we got on sale; if u can call that a sale.

Probably going to be a waste of money but interested to see if I can make it and how I feel.

Starts Wednesday. I'll try and keep posted for those that care.

does not sound appealing to me at all, personally. Is it to make you "healthier" or help you lose weight, or what?

I'd be really hungry and in a bad mood for 3 days I bet

I did a 3 day through juice Nashville not long ago. Got a little grumpy by day 3 but it was alright. If you decide to do it regularly you can get a better deal on cold pressed juice buying by the half gallon from whole foods if you live near one. I did lose about 8 pounds in 3 days but quickly regained it. I did not have a colon cleansing blowout but I was pretty much just pooping liquid towards the end.

oh ok, do you know of any science behind it? i.e. how does it make you healthier?

also, if it's to cleanse your system, how often would you have to do it? once a month?
I think the idea is to get yourself off of processed food and meat for a few days and then maybe use that as a launch pad. If you juice cleanse for more than about a week you need to have your electrolytes monitored. Some people have used this as a means to achieve radical lifesaving changes. I don't think I could do it long term.

I would think multi vitamins would be a hell of a lot cheaper. That and eat sensibly.

Gotcha. I feel like it'd be a thing that would work well (ie. cleansing your system from bad foods/habits) if you did it like once a week.

Similar to how many people have "cheat" days where they can eat less healthily than usual, this would be consuming more healthily than on average.

Doing it 3 straight days doesn't seem like a good idea to me, but I have no knowledge of the science behind it so my opinion doesn't count for much.

It's basically hippy science. Load up on greens and vitamins. Supposed benefits are cleansing lover and colon, get rid of free radicals stuff like that.

Not a lot of fiber so u supposedly don't poo a lot.

Well, we aren't using it as a quick fix. We are both in good shape and workout 3-4 times a week.

It's more just to try and see what people are raving about.

The recent "juice craze" is already fading and will almost certainly be laughed at by nutritionists in the near future. You can get the same benefits, nutrients, AND fiber by actually eating the raw fruits and veggies without running them through a $200+ machine.

I don't know who to trust. A doctor or gwyneth paltrow
