Could it possibly be that Pruitt is a man of few words and just action?
Again, I was not bashing or criticizing. I think he's going to be a good coach, and I agree he should play everything close to the vest. Why give info away to your opponents? I just find it kind of humorous how he evades questions and doesn't elaborate much.

Good God you think after the circus Butch made us when he talked,we be cool with sum one not having much to say.I agree with most folks, just let the talking be done on the field! In the end that's all that matters.

If he puts out a quality product I don’t care if he comes out and answers cornbread to every question. Hoping to see someone who is more focused on football than talking to the media.
Coach, how did you feel your defense performed tonight?

Pruitt: cornbread

Coach, what does your team need to improve on going into next week?

Pruitt: cornbread

That would be so funny

Nothing at all against him, but he doesn’t look comfortable speaking in front of a crowd. And I think he is a man of few words.

I don’t care what he says or doesn’t say if the product on the field is good. Just win.

Saban looks uncomfortable to me as well sometimes.

Speaking in front of people is not easy. It took me years before I was not a nervous wreck when I ha from to give presentations a two work.

This may not be a popular answer with some.
But, it’s not a lack of confidence in public speaking.
He knows that he struggles a little with his grammar and is self conscious about it.
It could be easily remedied with a few private sessions with an English tutor.
I’ve seen several friends and family do this to help in their business careers.
Just my .02.
And, before people chime in with saying....we hired a football coach, not a public speaker...
That’s true. But, there’s no reason why a Coach can’t also speak properly.

Good points. I really do like the guy. I hope he does well (for his sake and ours).

The school did not produce this video it's Vince Ferrara's video ( probably his phone ) I wish they would though... EDIT half of VolsnRavens went over my head. lol

we have the worst press conference audio of all college football....why can't we get a good feed, to me sounds like its in a tunnel

I was thinking the same thing. Can't the media in Knoxville afford anything other than recording on a friggin cassette tape? Sheesh

Coaches want to coach, not give press conferences. Yes it’s part of the HC’s job but that doesn’t mean he wants to do it. I’m just glad he’s not using stupid slogans every sentence.

Everybody seems to think Pruitt's being coy or evasive. Any chance this guy is just a poor communicator...lol? He reminds me of my late father-in-law--why use 500 words to say something when you can say it in 50? ;)
You say that like using 500 words for a 50 word statement is a good thing.
