Had he paid attention, he could have extended the ball past the marker while he wen t out of bounds by just shifting to his left hand and reching for the flag as he went out. QBs do that all the time and get the mark most of the time.

He was pissed because Shrout didn't get the first down.At least that's what I thought when it happened.I was thinking to myself at the time,if I were the coach I would eat his but out for not cutting up and getting the first down and also keeping the clock running.We were up ten at the time! JMO

Teaching moment about getting the 1st down, extending the drive and killing the clock to end the game! He could have gotten the 1st down. We've JG cost us the Ga St. game by diving early not getting the 1st down which caused us not to be up 21-7 in that game. In my opinion the single play that cost us that game because we would have broken their spirit and the game would've been over early!

That’s what I noticed in real time, and then noticed him go back out and perform quite well. This kid has a little something I think. He didn’t throw a tantrum and tweet about his feelings afterward either. I think he understands something that not all his age do. I’m interested to see what comes next for him. I like Maurer, but he’s all emotion. The ability to get sandblasted by your coach, take the full force of it while keeping eye contact and then go back out and arguably perform better without a shred of mercurial emotionality...hard to teach that. Iceman with a better arm perhaps??? I like Cali Qb’s.

CJP is definitely growing on me... i personally loved his reaction and Shrouts as well..

I sincerly hope he figures out how to win out this season...
