25 Vol concussions? Really Butch Jones? Hid in the dark?

Can this give us cause for firing? It could save Jimmy some money.

I just hope the Orange and White game is more like a real scrimmage. It was so idiotic under CBJ. Silly games. Like a three ring circus with CBJ as the ringmaster. I want to see how a QB reacts to game like situations, not whether he can hit a garbage can or not.:eek:lol::mf_surrender:How juvenile!!!!

Some of these threads remind me of gossiping teenagers.... for heaven sakes let CBJ go and you’ll eventually feel better about yourselves....hopefully....

I wonder if he counted the number of players that "fell on helmets" as a part of concussions, that would raise the number and it happens all the time ;)

Butch is a victim of multiple severe concussions himself. He continues to repeat this "we did things we hadn't done in 20 years" line he said during the season last year.

There are at least 6 seasons within the last 20 that are objectively better than anything Butch achieved.

We did lead the nation in Non-Starts in 2016 & 2017
2016 = 57 non starts
& 2017= 82 Non Starts new Power 5 record.
How many were concussion not sure but
without Dobbs in 2016 we would have gone from 9-4 to 6-7
Dobbs was durable and masked a terrible O line

Not that I don't believe the stats, but I would like to know how many Butch held out that could have actually played. I know we had some injuries, but it seemed other teams had guys playing after short stints, and our guys would be out all year or at least months for similar injuries.

It must be nice to get fired and get 8 million dollars.

I also have a hard time believing him, because he is not known for his truth telling. If you read his statements-you can see he lied about VOLS not accomplishing anything in so many years-- (Except SEC and National championship) but not apologizing or taking blame for the worse loss in VOLS history and losing eight games.

If we set records in injury, then it must be on him, because nobody else is having that kind of problem, and if they are they aren't using it as an excuse for losing.

So you want to play those who have had concussions???

So you are one of the haters that cannot let go. Very sad.

Apparently he/she/it is. Calls everyone Butch that doesn't agree. I guess folks that do that make them feel justified with their comments against other fans.

These same folks will turn on Pruitt as well when he loses that first game to someone they thought he should beat.

And I am not Butch. I suspect Jones cares not what folks on here think.

We did do "things" that hadn't been done in 5, 10, and 20 years. Some good. Most bad.

Thanks for this data. It confirms what I argued for more than 3 years concerning Jones. When injuries and consistently above the norm then it MUST relate to things that you do or don't do.

Personally, I think Jones came in and pushed physicality and especially fatigue to an extreme. I remember him make proud statements about pushing the pace of practice to the point where players had muscle failure like you would in the weight room. The problem is the weight room is a controlled environment where you can put specific safeties in place. It isn't a football field with hitting or even divots in the turf.

Then after I think '15 when injuries put lots of guys on the sideline... he swung back the other direction and got too soft. Guys didn't get practice hitting or getting hit like they would in a game. The only thing possibly worse than being too physical in practice with respect to injuries is being too soft. You learn to hit without getting hurt in practice. You learn to take a hit by getting hit. You learn how to get that fraction of a second initiative on the guy you're hitting in practice. You ever learn to avoid getting hit or getting hit in a bad way by... getting hit in practice.

Just another proof that Jones really didn't know what he was doing much of the time. He just talked... and talked... and talked... like what you get from a used car salesman who really doesn't know anything about cars.

No i call you Butch, because every post you make is critical of UT and what happened to Butch and currie, you have been nothing more than a butch and currie supporter with your comments until someone presses you on it, then you claim to be a UT fan, sorry but a true UT fan doesnt keep defending the coach that took the program to its historical lows. During the schiano debacle all you have done is talk about how wrong schoano and currie were treated by the admin, completely ignoring the evidence of currie only being a yes Man and being completely responsible for the worst coaching search in college football history.

That guy is delusional. I'm having a hard time believing anything that he says. This whole, "we did things they haven't seen in 10,15,20 years" is total bullsh*t!

He was probably referring to attrition, losing games in the last seconds, and horrible play calling.
