Not bad, but how many wide receivers does one team need?

In 2014, we will not have the following offensive linemen,
Fulton, Stone, James, Bullard, and maybe Richardson. Their likely replacements are Crowder, Posey, Pair, and Kerbyson, but after that, we have not depth on the offensive line. Shouldn't we be recruiting offensive linemen???

In 2014, we will not have the following linebackers, Probsy, King, Crump & Sapp. Also, it is likely that Johnson & Maggitt will also leave. Who are their replacements? Shouldn't we be recruiting linebackers also?

In 2014, we will not have the following defensive linemen. Smith, Walls, Hood, McCullers, Miller & Couch.
Who are their replacements? Shouldn't we be recruiting defensive linemen?

Now, all of these issues can be solved quickly, should we go the Junior College route, next recruiting period.

There is a LB and a DE in that list. IF all those guys do sign with us, that means we have another 15 spots open in this class. The Trenches will get taken care of as the season progresses. No need to worry.

Upon further review.... I know your definition of boom.... and my definition of boom..... are two entirely different things.

Maybe I am doing it wrong... Is there a how to video? :)

FWIW, all six of these players listed are in the top 247 for the site, as well as the top 200 for composite rankings. For those worried about needs at other positions, all six of these added to what we already have would still only give us about half of what our 2014 class is likely going to be. Still a lot of spots to fill, and it's a LONG way to February.

I know thats the staff's predictions, but we'll be lucky to get 2, maybe 3 if we're really lucky. I've just seen too many predictions go up in flames and kids saying they're 100% committed when in reality they're 100% full of crap. Been burned too many times - I'm hopeful, but won't get too jacked up til signing day.

i know weve all been burned before but i feel pretty good about kids committing and staying committed to butch.

Don't you sell something that could help that?

I'm not so sure getting all these "high profile" skill position recruits to commit now isn't part of the plan. With social media the way it is, propaganda is 90% of the game (well maybe not that much, but papaw said 90%).

I've read in a few articles since they've started having camps around the south where a recruit said something to the effect of "I hear Tennessee's got a great class started", or "people have told me I need to check out UT so I'm going to". Coach Jones has done a great job of putting UT in the positive spotlight over the last few months, and recruits notice that.

Plus, if you're an O-lineman, why would you not want to block for 2 of the top RB's in the 2014 class? Same with the D-Line and LB's if you look at the DB's we've already got in the fold...just makes it easier to sell to the big fellas.
