24 Hours of Tennessee Sports and.....

Because those were the old administration and Butch wants to show what his team has done. It's stupid but not surprising. Guess we should enjoy watching recruiting highlights until we can get some more good wins

I see that point, I just thought the "Tennessee" takeover would be more about Tennessee and its tradition of head splitting speed demon studs past and present than any staff.

I'm sure your right though and Butch really is a stickler at trying to get the fanbase behind him and wanting to show progress that he and his staff has made et ala 2015 GA, recruiting, etc.

To please Vol fans he should win ballgames and let us enjoy our deep history IMO

LOL no, during the SEC take over the university picks what is shown. If you don't think the football picks either came from or were approved by Butch then I can't help you

I didn't ask for your help. But thank you anyways. I'm fine with showing the UGA game and the bowl game. Most of the other schools showed recent games too. Almost all our old games are on YouTube anyways.

I actually would have been fine with nothing but Pat Summitt games all 24 hours.

Maybe I'm just getting older but while watching the replay of Northwestern and Tennessee I can't help but notice how bad the untucked shirt under the jersey looks. I really hope that stops or that fad goes away quickly.

I agree it looks awful. Told my wife same thing all year last year. Love the new uniforms though. But those shirts look so sloppy.

Yea, sure SECN gave them some guidelines, but the choices overall were mediocre.

Should have been heavy on football. I scanned thru the 24 hour lineup last night and found it very disappointing.

Well, again, there were limits on how much of each sport could be featured. We could have added another football game if we had taken out the recruiting show and the airings of The Color Orange. We had the maximum amount of football that fit the guidelines set by ESPN that applied to all of the schools.

I don't know what was on but my top 5 games would be: 6 OT game with bama, 4 OT game with Arky, Arky 98, Miami 85 and of course inaugural BCS game with FSU.

Then I would consider FL 98, Syracuse 98 and great comeback at LSU. Maybe a Notre Dame game won by a blocked FG off of Jeremy Lincoln's backside.

I'm gonna have to go with:
--1986 Sugar Bowl over Miami
--1999 Fiesta Bowl over FSU
--1998 Florida game
--1995 Alabama game in Birmingham
--1971 Penn State game

.....they show 30 minutes of a recruiting show, TWICE! All of the great moments in Tennessee sports history and they waste our time showing a 30 min recruiting show and then turn around and play the same show again!

It's for recruiting. We are the only school to have segments dedicated to recruiting. You sheep can't realize our staff is doing everything and anything to bring kids in to the program. I am all for it.

You think recruits in the class of 2017 are going to sit down and watch a show about UT's 2016 recruiting class and you call others sheep?

I do, it shows they will be on tv. My point, it can't hurt. I'd rather us try to use it as a recruiting tool rather than watch freaking rewind of the natty from twenty years ago. I dont need to see it a million times either. Let's focus on things relevant and now.

Well, the coaching staff requested that it air for just that reason and I would say they have more contact with the class of 2017 than any of us.

Let me know as soon as UT gets a recruit who says he was just "blown away" watching coaches and announcers talking about the 2016 signees.

I hope it works and is enough to pull a recruit that's on the fence to come to TN. I was more or less saying they could show the recruiting vid, and of the games they didn't show last year there is still plenty more classics that they could've chose from to air along with the recruiting video. I don't expect that it would push anybody over the edge, but recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint.

Again, the coaches requested that it be included and I value their opinion.
