SEC true freshman who will make an early impact

Tennessee – Jalen Hurd, RB, Hendersonville, Tenn.: Butch Jones and his staff will be counting on a lot of freshmen again this season, but Hurd has the best chance to make a big impact. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Hurd looks like an upperclassman and has impressed coaches and players alike with his skills and work ethic. Rajion Neal is gone, and Marlin Lane hasn’t been able to stay healthy, so Hurd should get a chance to carry the ball quite a bit this fall. Hurd had a good spring and is one of the highest-ranked running backs to come to Knoxville in some time. Fans have high expectations for the freshman, and he should have a chance to deliver if he is 100% healthy after sitting out most of his senior season with a shoulder injury that required surgery.

I like ALL of our newcomers, but Josh Malone is extra extra special.

Josh will be the Malone UT Heisman winner until you've Hurd Jalen gets his during his third year at the UT. So says the weatherman, the whether man says.

imagination I have,I just prefer English...I still don't get the Malone Heisman winner, but carry on...

Naw, you got no imagination. Trust me. Cause if you did you'd quickly see that it's a phonetic play on players' names and the context would be self-explanatory.

But here's some hints. Which Vols players have won the Heisman? Based on that answer, and despite our having what appears to be lots of playmakers, what player probably stands the best chance to win the Heisman this season? Then, what player stands the best chance by his third year here? Finally, when it comes to poetic license and word play, the English language is one of the richest and best languages for doing that. But if you got no 'magination, you got no linguistic creation. Case in point:
A wonderful bird is the Pelican.
His beak can hold more than his belican.
He can hold in his beak
Enough food for a week!
But I'll be darned if I know how the helican?

So, All I can say for you, my good man is:

You ain’t got no imagination
You ain’t got no imagination
'Cause You try and You try and You try and You try
You ain't get no, You ain't get no imagination.

You ain't get no, oh no no no
Hey hey hey, that's what You say
You ain’t got no imagination
You ain’t got no imagination

:good!: all good Woodsy..creative writing isn't my strong suit...its not even something I try to comprehend...but its better than all the lunacy in the TG and QD threads...

I agree with both Malone and Hurd making the biggest contributions as far as freshman and a pure numbers impact... Coleman T's impact would be hard to try to justify numbers wise, but if he does well,he could be a 1b to Hurd and Malone's 1a...

He is the real deal. I went to his first HS game last yr against a good Station Camp team. Everyone within a mile of there including the players knew he was going to get the first carry of the game and he went 80 yds. for a TD. The next series he intercepted the first pass and hurt his shoulder.

Agree and I'm really excited about our TEs and Coleman Thomas. Now Thomas has some tall shoes to step into as a true FR but he looks the part!

TK2, Mosely, Gaulden, Jakob Johnson, Sawyer...the hits just keep comin baby!

I think I'd go with Coleman Thomas, but I honestly believe Dillon Bates will win a spot and be a beast as a freshmen... but I'm also one of those who thinks USU will be a very tough opener.

Hurd will get plenty of chances and I hope Lane can stay healthy. It seems like Lane has been at UT for 6 years and I would like to see him finish on a good note.
