Buccaneers unable to keep pace with Gators in season opener
If we can’t do it like the bucs did against Florida, then something is terribly wrong. Mind boggling that the defense gave up 222 yards rushing? Please, let’s exploit that.
I sincerely doubt we want to "do like the Bucs did". They LOST....53-6. Florida had them 38-0 at halftime and played the second half with anyone and EVERYONE they had available to keep their starters off the field.
222 rushing yards..??? Half of that was 2 runs.

This is hilarious. I remember us saying bc Kansas ran for 300 yards on WVU we should be able to run it all game and blow them out. We don’t have the horses to beat Florida unfortunately I don’t think it’ll be a close game

You're correct but I wouldn't say we don't have the horses either. Florida was terrible last season and they literally played a cupcake. We played a ranked team with a Heisman candidate. Not fair to say they're the better team yet. We'll see how they do against Kentuck and Co St.

If we win these next two, in dominate fashion, most will be convinced JG is the second coming, and our green secondary will shut down FL in similar manner.

As far as JG goes, in some fans minds, he will never be good. I saw some saying he didnt play that well against WV. A win for the Vols against anyone will bring out the unrealistic fans in a split second.

Think about what will happen if we manage to beat UF? Most on here say they are garbage but if we beat them? Look out SEC East!

I’m just not confident in anything with our team at this point.
Unfortunately, this is the case. I may be grasping at straws here, but I don't see us just being able to run the ball on them as well as WVU. That being said, to me, it appears that JG has got his stuff dialed in this year. If we can build upon that, and JG continues to elevate his game passing the ball, then we can have balance, and will be able to run the ball. I think need to keep TE's and RB's in to block for max protect, and let Calloway, Jennings, Palmer carry the load receiving. Jennings needs alot of targets...he only caught two balls, but you could see his physical competitive drive to win is still there. We need to lean on him and Calloway. If we can develop our passing game to a threat, I think we'll have a chance to be a scoring threat.

Don't know what to say about our D. Think they're on same par as last year...so, that's going to be a problem.

This “unrealistic” fan says we’re not gonna beat FL much less compete running 17 play scoring drives on O. We can’t rely on our D to shut down an SEC O therefore we need quick scoring vertical O production we CANT WIN with the O we played vs WVU.

this. people are always building themselves past the point of reality. People had convinced themselves that Grier was some scrub who didn't deserve any Heisman talk and that we had the better WRs. And somehow Pruitt was going to fix all our problems in one game. one can be a fan without believing we are more than we are.

Been like this the whole time I've been here and likely to never change. I find it fascinating to see people get all bent out of shape over it, over and over. I mean, wgas? Lol.

This speaks volumes about the Gators:
  • CSU outgained the Gators 222-203 on the ground paced by Harris and Johnson's efforts.
  • The Bucs also held the 32:02-27:58 edge in time of possession in the game.
  • Neither team was able to convert on third down in the game. CSU was 3-of-14 (21.4%) on the field, while the Gators were 2-of-9 (22.2%).
  • Florida converted a fourth down opportunity on their opening drive which led to the first touchdown of the game.
  • The Bucs were held to nine first downs in the contest, while Florida picked up 25.

Even when Florida is bad...Tennessee is always worse. I believe UT lost twice to multiple 4-8 gator teams in recent memory.....
