Alabama is ranked #21. I heard on the radio that this is their worst ranking since 2008. They have also lost 4 games to unranked teams under Kalen DeBoer. It took over 200 games for them to lose that many games against unranked opponents under Nick Saban. I hope this is the beginning of the downfall of the Crimson Tide.

Bama is 5-5 over the last 10 games. They are not very well coached on defense and there was a visible lack of effort against FSU. Watch the Film guys break down of the film, he goes off on the defense. There were bad reads, confusion and lack of effort. Saben had to be blowing a gasket watching that game.

True though it is humorous to watch the combination of stupidity and bias from some of these morons that are allowed to vote. The one that really gets me is Illinois. As noted above a 3% chance to make the playoff yet they're already knocking on the door of the top 10? It's asinine for a team like Illinois even with a returning QB to be ahead of a team like Tenn. For better or worse these things do effect brands, so it would be nice if those folks would take it a little more seriously and objectively.

I'm a firm believer that if you lose your season opener, regardless of who you are or who you lose to, you shouldn't be ranked the next week in the AP. I don't care about strength of schedule or if you were #2 and got knocked off by #1. If your win percentage is 0.0%, you haven't proven to be a top 25 team yet.

You earn the right to be there.

Yeah anybody that thinks the VOLS arent in the top 25 football teams in the country is either an idiot who shouldn't have a vote, or has an axe to grind against UT. Our 4 year recruiting average is like 12th? With nearly zero attrition. You have to be a moron to think that our team with that much talent isnt Top25. Some of those ballots are so damn ridiculous that I don't think they even watch football. My 17yo daughter could do a much more accurate poll than some of these clowns

I understand and agree with the sentiment that hey, it will take care of itself. However, if that is the way these voters feel, why even do it? I believe that making a choice for a poll like this should be simple; how would team A do against team B on a neutral field.

Having said that, take for instance this idiot - Paul Yanity - AP Voter, Former Play by Play announcer for Clemson

He does not have Tennessee in the Top 25. However, he does have Liberty, Navy, and James Madison in the Top 25. Is there anyone in the college football world, including Paul Yanity, that would pick James Madison over Tennessee?

They just had to stick Alabama right in front of us. What a crock of crap. I don’t understand how they were initially graded number eight anyways when they didn’t even make it to the playoff and we did. They should not even put out ratings until about after week four

Tennessee Volunteers Football at College Poll Tracker

SEVEN pollsters have UT unranked. Another 6 have Vols at #25. Georgia loss will increase that number substantially as it’ll confirm that a barely top 25 team losing to a top 5 team is some kind of surprise. Strange year brewing. UT could possibly be 10-2 or 9-3 and barely be top 25
