2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

In this case, yes. But I’m been in that server for 2 years. It’s extremely rare that he is off like this. No where near a common occurrence
With Tennessee he’s off more than he’s on, not knocking him at all, it’s just the case…our staff doesn’t communicate at all with him which gives him just 1 side of the story which our guys love.

Is a Final Four the goal? Weird, I thought it was to win the whole damn thing.

Go back to the last champion who didn't have solid post play with some size. Small with average to below average post presence is the exception not the rule.
I agree with you. The goal is championship (though I’d be happy with a final four). I just don’t agree that you have to have a dominant seven-footer to do that, and I think history agrees with me on that front.

The transfer portal market is a zero-sum game. When the market zigs and places a premium on bigs, it’s smart to zag and get your moneys worth elsewhere if it fits your scheme.
I was curious about teams that have made it to the F4 in the last few years, and who their biggest "big" was. This year was definitely an outlier. The average height of each team's biggest player that played at least 40% of the minutes was 6-11.

In the last 5 years:
12/20 (including 3 of the last 5 champions) didn't have a player over 6-11
9/20 didn't have a player over 6-10
4 of them (including 2 of the last 5 champions) didn't even have a player over 6-8 playing 40% of the minutes

All that to say, it helps to have a 7-footer, but depending on the roster you have it's no necessity.

NCAA should just add an "OR" in this.... once you complete a bachelor's you also exhaust eligibility.

Reason, if you graduate high school guess what you can no longer play, high school sports the following season.
People would just stay one class requirement from graduating.

Further context on Juke— Over the weekend we heard that he did not get the kind of feedback that would keep him in the draft. Like many kids, he’s getting fatigued with this process and the constant attention it takes. He wants to get it over with. We’ve accelerated ironing out final details in his NIL structure. Supposedly it is at the finish line. Barring any crazy development it’ll be done today and announced in the next couple of days.
Any word on who we might be targeting as the final post player?

You’re probably right, but not for certain yet. Vote is May 22nd
The vote is irrelevant for him, though, unless he pursues legal action. He is out of eligibility, so if the rule fails to pass, he's done. The rule also states that current seniors who have exhausted their eligibility are not grandfathered in under the 5 for 5 rule change. So, if it passes, he's still done.

He could legally challenge the ruling in court because the NCAA is stupid and the timing and exclusion will lead to lawsuits by the current senior class who will argue that the NCAA is punitive in its exclusion of the current senior class. Whether he will choose to do so is debatable. Okpara actually has a shot at a decent NBA career, so he may just choose to move on.

Thank you for the clarification

Any insight on the NBA feedback?

I'm guessing his shooting percentages were a big issue. He also needs to get stronger with the ball.
