It's not retroactive, but it seems to indicate that guys like Felix and JG who only played four years will get another year if it's passed.
Since this seems likely to pass, or at least exclude 5th year guys now if it does, any visibility into non-Juke transfer(s) to come for us? Big vs. guard (think everyone is saying it'll likely be another big), timeline on that? Or crickets from team's side. It’s not retroactive, meaning if your eligibility expired prior to it being passed then you’re out of eligibility.
I think they’ve got interest in Bamgboye, not sure to what degree…we’ll see if any other names pop up.Since this seems likely to pass, or at least exclude 5th year guys now if it does, any visibility into non-Juke transfer(s) to come for us? HahaNo question JP defended Edey better than anyone we threw at him.
Just last week you were saying Juke is the missing puzzle piece (which he is) and that you hope that we can win the bidding war (which by all reports we have)
No one is acting like he's the next MJ, but he's a top 5 portal player and would be higher rated than DK, Chaz, and JG.
He played in the ACC on a bad team, but it's not like Chaz and DK's teams were that good either and they played in worse leagues.
Juke is everything we needed on this past years team... He's a guy that if you need a bucket he's going to go get it. Not the best shooter, but the way he can drive and attack the basket is elite. He's a perfect compliment to our shooters Hill, Ames, and Lundblade. If Barnes wants to run ISO for him like he did DK, he can!
If you go back to the start of the conversation I was addressing that based on the things I’ve mentioned we likely didn’t few Estrella equally with other program. That’s why I’m hitting on this.
And you’re right. This year was dominated by some really good front courts. It was a bit of an exception, but that’s besides the point. More than being big, those teams have lots of good players.
I don’t think Thiam is especially good. I think Juke/Hill are better basketball players. I think they’re a better fit for Barnes’ offense. Money is a limited resource and I’d prefer the team to maximize value where the have to, height be darned, not being in a meh player just because he’s a 7-footer.
This year had a bunch of big frontcourts, but to act like it’s the price of entry for the final four when we’ve seen an abundance of programs succeed at small ball is misguided imo.
He did try and he did well. Edey was a monster of course. I trust Barnes and am excited to see what we field next year. No ill will towards JP at all though.Haha![]()

he tried lol. This year he was the worse defender on the team by a mile. Which make you think
is that foot or leg getting better or worse? Can't pay an injury prone player that much even with that skill set. I'm cool on Estrella and wish him the best.
I don’t agree at all from our tourney game. No one guarded him well except JP, who was decent. No sir. Awaka was the best on Edey. They just called a bunch of fouls on him. Edey abused Estrella
Well seeing as we've never been to a Final Four in program history and I'd like to see us make one some time before I die, I'd say yes the goal is to make the Final Four. You can't win a natty without making a Final FourIs a Final Four the goal? Weird, I thought it was to win the whole damn thing.
Go back to the last champion who didn't have solid post play with some size. Small with average to below average post presence is the exception not the rule.
You are way too practical and have too much common sense to be on this site…lolIn business, you interview, decide who is the best candidate and make them an offer. That person who we offered is almost certainly chasing multiple interviews and offers. So, actually getting your top top choice is always a little bit of a gamble.
Juke (and his agents) is/are conducting multiple interviews and getting multiple offers ... it is not a failure on our part (Tennessee's part) if he signs with another 'business'! It happens.
People interviewing don't always take the most money. Sometimes, they shoot for what they believe is the best quality of life.
I'm suggesting we stop rubbing our hands together and worrying. Pick up a good book and read it. Go play pickleball. Go swim some laps or play a round of golf. We made a good faith offer. We'll find out Juke's decision ... when he makes it.
