The thing is you’ve said you’d wait and see how the roster finishes, but you aren’t…you’re throwing a temper tantrum (again) because Tanner didn’t enter the portal, that’s all.

Going to geek out for a minute here about why I’m insanely obsessed with whether Ament returns…his game is aesthetically pleasing to me. It’s one of those things where it’s not about production for me. It’s how he plays the game. It feels like art. It felt the same way when I watched Jordan Beck swing a bat and Sampson hit a hole. Sometimes watching them play is more pleasing than seeing them help you win.

Nobody is forcing you to watch the football team.

Again, it all hinges on Juke at this point. Don’t have much of a choice to just wait, but I might bitch alittle along the way.

Everyone do yourselves a favor and write down the names of the people that led you to believe Tanner was happening so you don’t fall for it again next year. Especially the guy who said Tanner had a visit set up lol. They come out of the woodwork every year. They never have any info before or after portal season, but when it cranks into gear, they all of a sudden have “coaching contacts in the midstate area” or whatever. There should be a running list of Todd Kirks.

Can someone explain the portal closing, yet able to secure players later? Is it, you can contact them til the deadline then if they commit later is if only the player reaches out? No more teams contacting players?

The portal deadline is only for entry. That’s the only deadline. Players can still visit and commit at any point after the deadline.

Right. I'm not down on Rubin by any means, but he comes with some inherent risk as opposed to Okpara, who we know can hack it at this level. So it's hard for me to call that roster move (Rubin for Okpara) an wash/even trade. If I had to choose, I'd take another year of Okpara over an unknown contribution from Rubin.
