2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

I will say with how much Hill has talked about being the starting PG for us in all of his post-visit and commitment quotes, I’m wondering if we really are going to bring in another guy at that spot now…

Agreed, sounds like he wants to be the PG. Ideally we bring in Juke and a front court option. Still have some hope for an elite PG that's already been elite at the highest level, but I think Hill is going to be terrific regardless.

I am perfectly happy with having Hill Jr as the starting PG. I always thought it was a bit wishful thinking to pitch him and Ames a spot along with a primary ball handler like Tyler Tanner.

Also, you have to figure Haralson likes the ball in his hands and likes to drive to to the rim alot. And if we still bring in Juke Harris, he too is dangerous with the ball.

That’s not a case I’m arguing against. Although I’d argue that JG isn’t getting drafted. Love the kid, but don’t see that. Barnes has hit gold with a single transfer player in three straight years. As we’ve seen, it takes more to get over that next rung. I’d be willing to bet this year’s class will be collectively more productive.
Disagree, Gillespie could get picked in mid 2 round ... teams are always looking for a backup PG .

I wouldn’t either. I’m just saying the meltdown over there has probably evaporated for the most part now [Kentucky has] landed a few quality players.
Right now they’re in the ‘Didn’t want him anyway’ stage of grief with the news Rancik just committed to Fl State.

Just reading tea leaves (no insider info here)

I wonder if Hill was waiting to see what Tanner did before committing and that was what the hold up was for a couple days? Just by reading his interviews…he seems pretty set on playing PG
Hey man, if a guy who put up 34 against UNC in the NCAA tournament including a step back three with 15 seconds left to win it wants to be PG, I'm all for it

Tanner was actually pretty pedestrian before last season. He’s a really smart player, but it’s also possible his breakout season this year was to some degree anomalous and the product of chemistry with a certain group of players. It happens.

Use the Tanner money on Thiam or Freeman.

I just wish our fans wouldn't get disappointed over an unlikely pipe dream, when we have added 4 of the best scorers and a top 5 shotblocker in the country to our roster

Obviously a big get for Barnes and Co! He will run point but obviously can play off the ball if needed… Much like Jakobi!

We told you the last few days that Tennessee was in perfect shape here… Hence the GIF… some of you just aren’t cut out for the decisions because they aren’t going to just commit always right when they walk off campus… There are other factors that have to be planned out with the kids timing being his own. Follow the buzzards as Barnes and co continue to kill the portal!

As for Juke Harris… he is in the NBA draft process… He is in no rush… And nothing is done… I still think Tennessee makes a ton of sense there and I think they have a super competitive offer if not the best offer.

He was an 18 year old freshman a year ago lol. He really is that good - no reason to downplay his ability because he’s likely not coming here.

It's not enough for Rick either and we still have multiple roster spots. The whining about people wanting to win is bizarre behavior to me. Especially the post you responded to. He was being positive and happy.
Agreed - no joke, you have to fill out the remaining roster, and Juke and a big or two are ideal and not unrealistic. Has nothing to do with being unsatisfied fans, FFS...
