2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

It’s been said by others with much more of a track record than I, but I’ll say it again…

Our staff is keeping his close to the vest. We are not interested in being in the homecoming court where everyone can see us…we want to take the queen home!
Not asking for names but are there any other high level guys that haven’t entered the portal that we are in on? Obviously Tanner but are there any others?

It’s a possibility but I’ve not been told any additional names…I was told what I know about 9:30 last night and I think there’s a lot I still don’t know

We just need Tanner to **** or get off the pot so to speak so we can move on or starting filling out his supporting cast. Hope this doesn’t drag on for another week. I guess he’s worth waiting for though.

I get the sentiment, but this kind of money and decision are literally life changing, potentially generational wealth generating decisions. I get why kids and their families/agents want to make sure the decision is the correct one.

I never saw anything remotely like the adulation JP is getting from the national media since committing to Michigan. There's nary a mention of injury history, missed layups, or anything else not completely positive. As crazy as it is to even suggest, is it possible that VolNation is just a bit hyper-critical when it comes to our own players? Asking for a friend.

That’s true of all fan bases.

I mean, UNC fans were thrilled to see Cadeau leave and look what happened

Occam’s Razor would suggest it’s more likely that Vol Nation has had a closer look than national media.

Think it’s a bit of both. I do think the national media has laid it on a bit thick, but Estrella’s advanced metrics are pretty eye-popping and the only reason our staff probably didn’t choose to pay him market value is the injury history. It’s the big question mark. If he can stay healthy, he’s going to have a big year for Michigan.

Yes. But your friend should know that it is going to take a perfect storm of good luck for Michigan to get all the potential out of JP, at the right place and time, to be able to pull off another natty, with his help. Much more likely, they will have many moments of frustration with him, and will simply be happy if he is a bit player in their success (or lack thereof).
