Yea, I love this get and the fact we got it done so quickly, but how good this pickup ultimately ends up being is determined by who else they add imo
I see him coming around in the handoffs up top from the 4 or 5 or off the pin down screens on the wing and letting it fly. Vandy doesn’t run as much of those with Tanner. The other two guards (PG and SG/CG) need to be studs for Lundblade to make sense in the lineup imo - made the Nickel comparison earlier but he feasted because teams had to watch out for Tanner and Miles. We need our version of that + our frontcourt to hold serve to be a contender.
That's totally fair, am thinking more generally that Vandy consistently set Nickel up to be a spot up shooter, with Tanner/Miles doing the playmaking and also contributing a ton as scorers.I see him coming around in the handoffs up top from the 4 or 5 or off the pin down screens on the wing and letting it fly. Need to find another 6'11+ guy either way and let Carey decide if he wants to stay. If he could finish better he would be great, but he is too old to really develop that skillsey around the basket that Dwayne Brown seems to already have.Very curious to see what they decide to do with Carey. He drove me absolutely nuts, but there were games we absolutely don’t win without him. If we let him go, what will it cost us to upgrade? A lot more than just keeping him I’m sure.
I think there are good options if you aren't expecting a true floor general. Pettiford, Rice would make sense. I like Lazerek Houston as 6th man for a year before taking over tooWell, we definitely know everyone’s preference for PG in Tanner
Who is y’all’s number 1 want to pair with him and Lundblade.
