2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

So reading the insider tea leaves, that's a hell of a team no doubt, but it is Tanner-less.

I feel like Tanner or another stud PG makes that team damn near #1 preseason.

On paper with all those additions, they would be quite a bit better offensively than this year’s Michigan.

The funniest part to me is that you made this new thread just for the same thing to happen from posters other than me.

This thread stayed on topic with actual targets 99% better than that other thread would’ve…in like 2 days that thread was more off the rails than this one ever got to. I was never upset with you, not sure why you think that, you like to have a portal thread you can post and discuss all 3k players that enter the portal, that’s awesome, the NCAA forum is ideal for that. I, and many others, like to have a portal thread that’s actually dedicated for Tennessee targets to be posted and discussed, and that’s what this one was.

From a players being posted perspective it has, there was more random names posted in that thread in like 2 days than the whole time in this thread. For the most part the players posted in here and discussed have been actual Tennessee targets.

Time and time again the same group freaks out, questions the staff, mocks other posters, calls out “insiders” etc etc when the portal doesn’t open with 5 commits like they expect it to. Ultimately Barnes puts together a team, wins 20+ games, makes the Elite 8 and those same posters look foolish for the temper tantrum. So I was genuinely asking why continue doing it? Why not maybe try giving a little patience and grace, maybe trusting that the staff and Rick know what they’re doing? Not saying they are above criticizing, but why not maybe wait just a little bit until doing so?

There's 3 types of people in this world. Overly positive, overly negative, and right down the middle. No amount of logic will ever get the first two to see things as they actually are, and no amount of glee or gloom will ever get the 3rd to react any differently. Each has their positives and negatives. Using this board as a reference, no amount of 5-7 or 6-6 seasons would ever stop certain posters from thinking we were going to beat Georgia or Alabama or Florida the next season during the 2010s in football. No amount of wins, even the national championship, would ever stop certain posters from questioning every move Vitello as if they knew better than him.
