2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

Have we had a duo like Hill and Dai Dai before? No true PG, but more like two SGs

I guess that’s really my only concern.
I think you could argue we were close to it with Gillespie and Boswell. If we could get a guy like Haralson that helps too, because you have creation coming from multiple positions on the floor.

Edit: Rubin too. I lineup with Hill + Haralson + Rubin would give you a guard, wing, and big that all create better than most players at their position.

Can’t say. As you know, they don’t send kids home with a number on a receipt. Offers are fluid and often involve counters and back and forth. I think Michigan is out, and it’s down to us and UNC.

Yeah and a lot of those are "not available if you leave the table"

Pretty sure that's how Michigan works, don't think we work that way...but quite a few schools have one time offers and that's why they either land their targets or move on so quickly.

I’m going to make a prediction that is based solely on a gut feeling: I think we land Juke and subsequently Haralson. I just refuse to believe CRB doesn’t get his guy. He’s done it 3 years in a row and knows what he likes and wants.
Not saying this for anyone other than me 🤣
But I choose to believe.

Now if that takes place I think we see TT get forced to play his hand.

Thats why I’m hoping the Juke decision is sooner rather than later.

I have a gut feeling we land Juke and Tanner returns back to Vandy.

We get...
Juke
T Hill
Ames
Lunderblade
Haralson
Rubin
Random post player
Then we snag the mystery PG that's tentatively scheduled to visit this weekend according to BTO. Not getting Tanner would be a bummer, but this is still an outstanding haul. Shooters and ball handlers as the saying goes...

I know Hill isn't a true point guard, but he's so talented. I'd totally take a chance on putting him in that role. Barnes can teach PG.
Yes he is a playmaker. Lots of big fish still out there to add. The recruit that is number onePG in country could be an option now that he sees money we have.

So, the in home visit went well with Juke assuming...

I'm no insider...so everything I share is taking information from other sources and then trying to read tea leaves.

The biggest challenge with Juke's recruitment IMO is the same one it was when he was coming outta HS...getting him out of North Carolina.

Unfortunately for us...he's arguably the best offensive guard in the entire portal so there isn't a school in NC that wouldn't take him including Wake where he's leaving, guarantee if he wanted to stay they'd do everything they could to make it happen.

4 on roster (counting Nate for now, 100% think he's going to draft)
3 incoming HS players (I think Washington Jr. is in the boat, part of why the above is counting Nate)
3 portal additions

That leaves us with 5 spots...they will absolutely take Haralson would love to see that news break tonight or tomorrow after his visit too.

Looks like JP was the only exit that had a landing spot lined up....Bishop, Evans, Cade, & Massamba all still looking for a place Bishop is the only one I've heard taking an actual visit....Cade to Bama seems to have smoke but unsure if he's even done a visit?
4 incoming FR if counting Washington (Green, Scott, Clark).

Used to watch the NBA , but now it’s gotten so watered down with players just not ready for the league it’s pathetic and hard to watch … there is no desire to play any defense … all course about the money …. Money talks

I rarely watch the NBA (or any pro sport) any more, but as a lifelong Sixers fan I follow what goes on, particularly at draft time.

The 'no defense' rap doesn't ring true once you get to the playoffs, the only games anyone really cares about any more. Pretty much every year the teams that win are the ones that rank the highest in defensive stats. Even those great Warriors teams that shot the lights out were highly underrated defensive groups, in the top five of Defensive Rating in those championship seasons.

Cade’s skill set doesn’t remind me of what Alabama looks for in post players? Obviously his family is connected to the athletic department, but being a family of high values I also find it difficult to believe they would want to be a part of the Oats regime. Guess we’ll see.
I agree, and neither did Brandon Garrison's skill set. Having two guys who aren't any real threat from deep seems anti-Bama.

Ehh there’s nothing wrong with it. Let him develop against top D1 players for another season and see where it goes.

He and Burg could end up being solid contributors down the road.
Massamba is cheap back of roster. May be a sign they are signing 3 or 4 big ticket players hopefully.

I think if you surround Hill (as the PG) with enough ball-handlers and scorers, you can make it work. The one concern is asking someone who isn't really used to facilitating offense to become that distributor to your posts. We like to run those lob options for guys like Okpara and Aidoo. We recruited Rubin who has that same offensive profile. That is where he is expected to make his mark on offense (in other words, he's not a post up offensive threat). A true PG is more functional running offense for a guy like that. Can Hill transition quickly to become that?

I’m cool with Burg, he’s easy to root for and gives his all. Massamba just seems like a waste of a spot with the other freshman coming in, but hope i’m wrong
