That has nothing to do with a shock jock mentioning his name on his radio program, though. The NCAA isn't going to come to Tony Basilio and start asking questions.

Maybe he's giving Vandy time to see if they are willing to pony up the bucks. Maybe he just wants to see the supporting cast at UT, which is still in flux. Maybe he's entertaining offers from a number of other schools. Lots of things could be in play. Trying to push him early might be the wrong tactic. If you've got your #2 PG choice ready to commit, then you push him, but not until then.

However, he still said yes when asked about Tanner. Also, the NCAA would have the same case with many other schools. They’d have quite a time tracking downs local talk shows and blogs that mention guys going to schools where the guys end up. They’d really don’t even try to enforce tampering rules at this point. It would be an impossible task.
