Really good video breakdown if you enjoy learning about offensive basketball and how sets and plays develop and evolve. Lots of Tennessee/Rick Barnes footage and references. Author is a former Mississippi State analyst, Jordan Sperber.

Love this video.

My next video breakdown is going to be about floppy action.

And then I was going to do one about 3 across. But this video really nails it. So I might not need to.

Most common actions in the motion offense I saw us run last year were

Middle ball screen (most common by a wide margin I think)

3 across

3-2

Floppy

Money

I was gonna make a video about each one and then tie it all together with a motion offense video so people can really understand it (cause I think it’s easier to understand the motion offense if you recognize the actions)

But might change that now lol. I also love how he dove into Bob McKillop who imo doesn’t get enough recognition. Dude is a major part of the offensive revolution we’ve seen over the last 15 years.

I couldn't find a better place to discuss this and I don't like starting new threads so I will stick it here. Kentucky is convinced they are getting #1 player Tyran Stokes. I thought this kid was going to Louisville? There is a crystal ball prediction for them to land him but it's from the "247 staff" or something like that. No one even put their name on it. Is this the media just trying to keep the biggest fan base in the country engaged?

Rick Barnes rated as the 15th best coach in the new KenPom coaching component rankings. It’s an…..interesting list. Pat Kelsey seems to be a bit overrated.

Lots of unproven or just subpar coaches ahead of him, IMO. Kyle Smith, Randy Bennett, Steve Forbes, Brad Underwood, Ritchie McKay, Shaka Smart...I'm not taking any of those guys over Rick Barnes. I know this is likely absent any human element like preference or opinion, but still an interesting lineup of coaches.

I would love to know how he is weighting things and what factors are driving the rankings. Some really weird names in this list and notable absences. No Todd Golden?

It would have gone here:

But we’ve defunded the board police, so anything goes.
