2026 SEC Tournament Games Discussion

Looks like Vandy has moved ahead of us in football and basketball. We better get our NIL up to snuff or we going to left in the dust by schools like Vandy and Ole Miss usually third tier schools in the SEC traditionally. Danny White will be feeling the heat soon if this crap continues. No effn excuse for it.

Luckily for you it probably will not matter to the NCAA committee. They have proven year after year that they don't pay attention to the Saturday or Sunday results of the SEC Tournament.
Florida losing in the semis and Houston beating Arizona would give the committee an easy excuse to swap those two. Conference tourney results don’t USUALLY matter but they will when convenient for the committee.

People will probably say that I'm typing this because Florida lost. But......

Last I saw a bracketology, they had Florida as a 1 seed that would be heading to Houston and being matched up with a #2 seed Houston. I did not want any part of playing Houston at Houston and would blow a gasket if that's what happens.

So, as long as the committee does something other than that, I'm good. You have to go play, play well, and find a way. But, playing the school in it's home city....that ain't cool

I'd pump the brakes on football, let's see how they do without Pavia.

Agreed. Not when they’re the lower seed in your scenario. That wouldn’t be right.

Wow ole miss. Go get a 2 with 22 seconds left. Instead bled the clock and now still down 3 with 9 left.

We’re interchangeable with UConn at this point.
It’s a big deal for getting to a Final 4, less so for winning it all. 2 years ago I have no doubt UT is in the Final 4 if they were the last 1 instead of the first 2, as they drew Purdue and the Jolly Green Giant. But, they lost down the stretch and opened the door for that, so only themselves to blame. This year, AZ, UM and Duke are the 3 to avoid.

Yes, but playing them in an NBA arena is much different than playing them at their 7,000 seat cracker box of a home gym.

Houston played Purdue at Lucas Oil Stadium in the Sweet 16 last year. Turned out ok for them. Same for Creighton when they had to play Louisville in Lexington. Duke also beat Butler in Indianapolis in the 2010 title game.

This time of year, if you’re good enough to make the Final Four, you don’t care where you play.

Kinda sad when fans want that to be the plan. Maybe the Vols getting better is more of a solid foundation. Everybody we loss to can't get worse. I guess they can but it's unlikely.

True, but you don't want to add in any extra degrees of difficulty just for the hell of it.
