Not to mention, I'm expecting half the top 30 recruits to hold off on the early signing period until the see how the portal players shake out by the end.lol Ain’t no way I’m about to waste time talking about recruiting classes when it’s several months before the early signing window.
Poop at the wall? I’d guess a closing of ranks within the AD. A few of the leaks have been plugged. How would you explain this? There are a handful of national recruiting folks plus a significant number of team site “reporters” giving frequent recruiting and performance updates on the top 30 high school men’s recruits especially during the summer tournament season and very little for WBB. There was also more recruiting discussion and insight on this site 20 years ago as evidenced by no post in almost five days. What happened?
Possibly a momentary shift toward the W? It appears to be all the rage and hella click bait worthy at the moment. We need to remember what the “press” is seeking. Times, they change.Maybe so, but why is there not more from national guys or team sites networking or getting the skinny at events? It is a sizable men’s industry. Hard to believe too few care about WBB.
Plus, any reporters who also cover football are spending a lot more of their preseason crunching number$ and learning how to link their articles to financial spreadsheets so they auto-update.Possibly a momentary shift toward the W? 1. I think there's not as much activity on the port right now as there often is because most of us are fairly content with how things are progressing.
2. I don't necessarily like it, but fact is, there is less national interest in wbb than there is mbb. Just look at our own message boards for proof. Even though we have the greatest wbb program ever, the mbb message board gets more than two times the threads and two times the post count as this message board. Other programs probably have at least a 10x variance.
That just proves this forum doesn't waste space arguing back and forth.1. I think there's not as much activity on the port right now as there often is because most of us are fairly content with how things are progressing.

The counter to the consolidation and focus on most lucrative beats aspects would be that in men’s recruiting the people that cover it most often only do MBB. And summer is a huge time for prospect evals and recruiting. Lack of coverage and insight is disappointing and that has nothing to do with whether we are happy how things are going at TN overall.Plus, any reporters who also cover football are spending a lot more of their preseason crunching number$ and learning how to link their articles to financial spreadsheets so they auto-update.
But seriously, there have been a lot of buyouts and consolidations of content delivery services, so reporters may be vying internally for the most lucrative (time/content) beats to cover.
