4 more Quad 1 games. @Vandy, vs Vandy, @Mizzou, Bama -
Despite my reservations with our team, I feel good about the rest of our schedule. @Vandy will be the toughest test and likely a penciled in Loss. If we can go 3-1 in this stretch, I feel good about our resume. I think that solidifies us in the #5 line. We would then have to make a good run in the SEC tourney to be considered on the #4 line, but considering where our team was early in SEC play, I like our ability to finish out strong.

Today’s games:
7pm: South Carolina vs. Florida
7pm: North Carolina vs. NCST**
7pm: Saint Louis vs. Rhode Island
7pm: Louisville vs. SMU

9pm: Nebraska vs. Iowa**
9pm: Wisconsin vs. Ohio State

NCST & Iowa are both projected 8 seeds, they could rise with wins but at this point I’d like to not think we’re gonna be fighting for 7-8 seed so I’ll root for them to win to help our ceiling
South Carolina loses
NCST wins
Rhode Island wins
SMU wins
Xavier loses
UCLA loses
Iowa wins
Ohio State wins
Georgia wins
Arizona State wins

You can cut out the 7 and 8 seed.

I refuse to believe Vols will sink that low. And no, I did not just jinx them.
Amen brother.

I think if we finish top 4 in the SEC, we are likely at best a 4 seed (means winning out the rest of the regular season v possible) or at worst a 6 seed.

Today’s slate:

7pm: Arkansas vs. Alabama
7pm: Clemson vs. Wake Forest
9pm: BYU vs. Arizona
9pm: Kansas vs. Oklahoma State
9pm: Virginia vs. Georgia Tech
9pm: St. John’s vs. Marquette
9pm: Vanderbilt vs. Missouri
10:30pm: Boise State vs. Utah State
11pm: Gonzaga vs. San Francisco

The first game is the only one I kinda have to stop and think about, both teams are barely ahead of us on most seed lists as well as right there at the top of the SEC with us. However pretty easy decision imo, Arkansas has 1 less SEC loss, we will play Alabama again and could hand them another loss giving us a clear H2H advantage against them with 2 wins, and this game is at Alabama so the win would move the needle more for Arkansas than it would Alabama.

Also interesting to note how many of the home games we will be rooting for, could be some fireworks as we know winning on the road in conference play is tough. If the Vols win and things break our way you could see Tennessee vault up to a 4 seed overnight in many brackets.

The only game left that I 'fear' at all is @ Vandy, but it might be the 'best' game to lose if we have to lose one. That dump has been a house of horrors over the years. @ Mizzou is too obviously a trap game, a point I'm sure CRB will be hammering home, especially if we win on Saturday.

According to Torvik, the most impactful game of the night for us (outside of ours) is BYU @ Arizona. Definitely can't afford to have BYU go down there and steal one.

I agree it's better for us if Bama wins. But I just can't do it. I can't pull for that program or that coach. Good thing it's the same time as our game so I don't have to watch it.

Feels like we’re ahead of BYU and if we handle business that’ll stick, don’t disagree that a win for them at Arizona would be huge, just don’t think it’s biggest impact of our goal is moving up. Kansas, Gonzaga, Vanderbilt, Virginia, SJU are all ahead of us and playing tonight.

I was looking at his leverage calculation. I see now that it's calculating the difference in your chance of an at-large bid based on the game result. That really only matters if you're on the bubble, which we aren't in any danger of. So yeah, I agree it's not the biggest game of the night (unless BYU wins... then it might end up being that way).

this thread should be the official 2026 and not the 2026 official... this will be a disaster
