So, how much damage has Spanberger done in a month? According to WJLA-V News in Arlington, here’s a list of the proposed taxes Spanberger and the Democrats have already introduced:

  • "New local sales tax in all Virginia counties and cities
  • New personal property tax on electric leaf blowers and electric landscaping equipment
  • Large employer tax
  • Gun and ammunition tax
  • New income tax brackets
  • Delivery tax, which would hit Amazon, Uber Eats, FedEx, and UPS orders in Northern Virginia
  • Investment income tax
  • Event tax
  • Storage facility tax
  • Gym membership tax
  • Dog walking tax
  • Dog grooming tax
  • Counseling tax
  • Digital personal property tax
  • New car taxes and highway use fees
  • Increase in the hotel tax in Arlington
  • Statewide speed cameras (not a tax, but more fines for drivers)
  • Vehicle repair tax
  • Home repair tax
  • Dry cleaning tax
  • Fantasy sports tax
  • Rideshare taxes"

Tax away dipsh!t.

The bad thing about that, they pollute other states with their democrat votes when the move.
That's likely overblown. They're not moving on some sort of Liberal Mormon-esque mission. They are fleeing. Most that I've met are conservative who can't stand it anymore. Many are former liberals who don't want to go back under that. The number of unconverted liberals arriving in red states probably won't be large enough to radically change these states' colors on the map.

And let's be frank. Much of the population loss will be illegals who have either been forcibly or self-deported.

Dems flipped a Trump plus +17 district in Texas, and they won it by more than 14 points. Looks like racist policies are causing Latinos to shift back.

And so it begins. They know people are truly pizzed off about ICE, the economy, and the Epstein files. So RepubLIARs revert to their usual tactic of cheating, lying, and stealing. Then making excuses for it. The truth is out there,

Which of these items do you disagree with?
  • Impose a strict photo ID requirement to vote,
  • create a centralized voter surveillance system in every state,
  • mandate constant voter roll purges, gutting the “Motor Voter” law that expanded access to voter registration,
  • bar states from counting ballots that arrive after Election Day,
  • ban universal mail voting, in which states mail a ballot to all registered voters,
  • bar the federal funding for voter registration by outside groups,
  • and unleash lawsuits against election officials — all at once.

Thank you. I was going to do that, but figured "Eh, what's the use?"

Believe states should run elections as they see fit. Personally, I believe in several of these but we can't pick and choose when to believe in state's constitutionally protected rights...

We can when they are federal elections. JMO.

If we went to popular vote for POTUS, then sure everyone has to have the same rules. The states choose their electors as they see fit (Nebraska and Maine dont have winner takes all, for example).

Again, Im for a lot of this. Im just more for state's choosing to run elections the way they see fit.

Just gets really slippery when we start talk "enhanced photo ID".

I think the federal government should have a say in whether and how voters are registered/guaranteed, as well as how ballots are handled, if the elections are federal elections.

Let's say the Dems elect some socialist in 2028 and take control of Congress. Since we are for federalizing elections now, wouldnt it be fair for Dems to draw Congressional districts in this scenario since those are "federal" elections?

Just saying this slope gets slippery really quick

Who are you talking to?

I'm not being snarky. It was legitimate confusion, seeing how nothing in my post, or the list in question has anything to do with drawing districts. What did I miss?

Just saying the Dems, in this scenario, could use the fact that House races are "federal" and could pass some law that gives them the authority to draw federal Congressional districts. Their argument could be Rs used Congressional power to overrule Article 1, Section 4 so we will do the same thing.

Just saying, the additional federal involvement could be a double edged sword when you arent in power...
