I took her comments to mean not only does the recruit want to play as a freshman but they have the talent to play as a FR. In other words, not interested in taking developmental types a few years from playing. I was pleased to hear the quote.

Look, Tennessee has a verbal commitment from the #2 player overall Oliviyah Edwards in the 2026 class.
You have other top WBB programs with zero commitments.
The current roster features 7 McDonald’s All-Americans including 3 incoming freshman McDonald’s All-Americans.
Ain’t no such thing as any HS recruits coming into Tennessee as a Fab 1,2, or whatever. 13 players on the roster right now are 4-star and 5-star players with 4 Top 10 players, 7 Top 20 players, and 9 Top 30 players.
I’m waiting to see what this 2026 class looks like but it ain’t going to be nothing that isn’t already on campus in Knoxville. That’s why Big Oh said herself she picked Tennessee🍊.

I didnt mean to sound disappointed,cause I'm good with getting Edwards. I still feel confident bout Crittendon and Jones. If Abii seems to be trending somewhere else, thats OK. By the way anybody know what's with Gabby Minus? And are we even still in on her, cause she ain't a scrub, but haven't heard her name lately!?

She has an official visit sometime in October, pretty sure it’s after the 4th (when Jacy announces) If Jacy and/or Jones decides to go somewhere else I expect the staff to really pull out the red carpet treatment for Minus. Even if we get the ‘fab 4’ I expect the staff to still show Minus we’re very much interested.

Strikes what? Did they strike out with Oliviyah Edwards? Did they strike out with Ruby Whitehorn? Did they strike out with Rickea Jackson? Talaysia Cooper? Mia Pauldo? Deniya Prawl? Jaida Civil? Kaniya Boyd? Mya Pauldo? The list can go on.
Lazaria Spearman, a Top 30 recruit out of HS was a player that a lot of teams went after once she hit the portal but nobody knew because she kept a low profile. One of Zee former Miami University teammates who was not ranked above Zee out of HS did end up at LSU out of the portal so think about that before you say LSU and other teams weren’t pursuing Zee.
The truth is, every team will land their fair share of players. There are so called recruiting battles but in the end it balances itself out.
Tennessee roster features 7 McDonald’s All-Americans and LSU roster features 6.
If Coach Mulkey has struck anything in recruiting then so has Coach Caldwell.
