That is the way it stands now three weeks of worry and concern to go.

Donā€™t want to sound like a Debbie downer, but the portal haul would need to be a tremendous home run at this point to compete in the top third of the SEC.

Iā€™ll be honest for years now one team that Iā€™ve watched from afar has been Florida State.
They dealt with a lot of injuries during previous seasons but always had talent. This guy Coach Ferrara seems to have the connections and a business like approach. Not a bunch of talk.
Heā€™ll be a great addition in Knoxville.
Coach Caldwell is always 10 steps ahead.

Somebody recruited two top fifty players for next season there either him or another Assistant. Number 21 and 31 so if it was him he did a great job with that class.

It seems like a potential precipice moment for the program as a whole. Returning players:

1 Senior
2 true freshman
3 true sophomores

It makes no sense in this system to name returning starters, so I wonā€™t venture there. But from an experience level and proven production level, again, the portal haul has to be huge or next season could be ugly. We will have to wait and see on the portal. I think the UT admin sees this and will work the NIL as much as they can to avoid the drop off that looks likely without an infusion of experience and talent. $ talks, it will have to in this instance to avoid potential disaster imo.

Heā€™s an offensive coach, something I said we needed desperately. I need to go watch some games to see how he actually runs his offensive system, well thatā€™s if she actually listens to him.

They stick together like glue. I think she would resign before she would fire one of them. I didn't see where they were really good at anything. Standing there drawing up plays and then someone shoots a 40 foot three when we go out on the court.
I guess we got our answer early Kim is it and let's go another season see where we land. That 44 NCAA appearances appears in jeopardy we can only hope we get through her coaching years and still have it going.

We have no starters that is the first lesson learned with her system. No one starts other than the five that play well in a game.

Thatā€™s my point. You got the same 1 complaining poster in this forum talking about the portal recruiting will be ā€œhorrificā€ when in fact as Iā€™ve said since Day 1 these college coaches, players, parents, and agents donā€™t think like these basic thinking fans.
Tennessee will sign good players via the portal and be extremely competitive in 2026-2027. These complaining fans are about to go out sad.

No she just hired a guy from Florida St and I figure if Tubner leaves it will be another P4 Assistant. I figure her allotment of Glenville coaches is filled. They just need to be thankful they have jobs cause them leaving would probably be the end of their careers.

Dude read the roomā€¦ what you are saying makes no sense. The hire is already made. If you think Florida State is a DII school no wonder youā€™re here trying to make folks pay you attention by talking about a former coach that got dog walked by 50 points this season against Tennessee.

As an example, next season my most followed team SC brings back the following before any portal pickups (they will aggressively pursue a PG1 and a true 5) and I am rightfully concerned a tad before seeing the portal haul because of how tough the conference is now:


Kitts 4-5 spot, senior
Watkins 4-5 spot Senior
Tournabize 5 spot sophomore
Edwards 4 spot Junior

Tessa 1-3 spot Senior
Makeer 1-3 spot sophomore
McDaniel 1 spot Junior
McDowell 2-3 spot Sophomore

2 top 20 recruits coming in at the 4-5 spots.

So yes, I feel the anxiety in LV world looking at the experience and production they have returning.
