He’s not the oldest, there’s others coming here doing the same, 23 & even 24 I think I’ve seen, they aren’t getting 4 years of eligibilityAll right, how is a 22-year-old that has played professional basketball eligible for college basketball? Is it a league thing? I know they've relaxed guidelines about playing pro ball overseas and coming to the States but I've never ever of a 22-year-old doing it.
Nice! I hadn’t seen that!Seen from Ryan Schumpert's practice observations that Cade and JP are shooting really well from the perimeter in drills, that Carey is improving in his perimeter shooting, and that Okpara was drilling 3s in drills and 5-on-5 when they let media in last practice. Again, it's just practice and obviously it's easy to get carried away with summer hype, but I think there's enough there to surprise folks. Not saying any of them are going to be living on the 3PT line by any means, just seeing a lot that offensive games have expanded beyond last year's dunkfest.
I'd say he's a pretty good to great shooter lol 38% from 3 and 45% FG in a tough pro league is nice!Love the fact that he can get to the rack pretty well. Obv not a great shooter but looks like he can shoot it good enough to go along with a nice handle. Great pickup and I think he will help us a lot
A more efficient Tyreke Key would great addition . Looking back at his stats 8 points for game is fine but shot 34% from field and 33% from 3.Watching these highlights again, I'll tell you who Burg reminds me of. A more athletic/quicker version of Tyreke Key.
Similar builds and Burg is a better ball-handler, but Key did more of that kind of stuff at Indiana St., too. At Tennessee, he was more of a designated shooter.
I see him as Gainey with better 3PT shooting and handles, honestly really excited by what he can bring to the table. For as much that goes into him shooting a 3, his midrange game looked really smooth. I like it. If he can get to the rim while using mid range pull up jumpers to keep defenders honest (a la Jordan Gainey), he could be a very effective scoring guard with the ball in his hands
This seems to assume no development or improvement by our bigs this offseason. We could emerge much better, but I also think it’s worth noting that we traded blowouts with FL in the regular season, and when you look at the way some inferior teams went toe to toe with Houston, I’m not totally persuaded that we wouldn’t have perhaps played them much closer on a different day. I think we were still reveling in spanking KY and didn’t have enough of our head in the game.Florida’s bigs were both more capable of knocking down threes than any of our bigs.. Not a very good comparison at all..
Also, our bigs aren’t on the same level of Houston’s.. Roberts manhandled anybody we threw at him.
No info, but I’m guessing pretty good. It’s not uncommon for Israelis to speak pretty fluent English.Does anyone know how Burg's English is? I'm just curious. No judgement whatsoever of course. A lot of my favorite players had to learn English when they got here. I just wonder if that is something he'll have to adapt to.
