2025 Transfer Portal Thread

Given that the staff seems to prefer someone older and experienced I’m not sure any of those guys are super realistic, they’re all more considered upside, but at some point do they give up on looking for an experienced guy, or maybe go with Burg, or take a chance on a higher ceiling guy? Radunovic probably is the most ready/likely early contributor, or at least you’d think given his age and professional experience.

Feel like at this point it'll be Burg or nobody, no whispers of anybody else visiting or anything.

Zak Smrekar 18 years old: recent FIBA U19 stats, 16.1 PPG | 4.7 RPG | 3.7 APG, was named 1st team all tournament along with 4 already college/college bound players, such as Christian Anderson from TTU, Mikel Brown Jr. from Louisville, and ahead of guys like BYU’s AJ Dybsanta.

I like his game. I’d go all in even if he becomes a project and doesn’t get a lot of minutes this year. Gives some Dalton Knecht vibes (he’s only 18 so you think explosion will only get better in training program) with the way he finished in transition, drove from the top of the circle, floated in the lane, and posted up smaller guys.

I would take him, especially at this point in time. What little I have seen of him seems to indicate he can get open and score. I have no idea what his defensive game is.

Not ahead of Dybantsa. Dybantsa was voted most valuable player at the FIBA U19, and was a definite standout along with Mikel Brown. On another note, watching the games:

Mikel Brown is going to be a problem for opposing next year.

Jordan Smith, Jr is a player in the 2026 class that has the ability to completely change the game on both sides of the ball. His defensive tenacity combined with his overall offensive skills (he was perfect from the field in the championship game) is very impressive.

I also think Texas just picked up a big recruit if he stays there a couple of years in the Duru from Germany (SF/PF).

I also liked Koa Peat and Caleb Holt from the US team.

Dybantsa and Brown were #1 and #2 in the games I observed. Smith and Peat were right there behind them.

I really liked the kid that is going to Washington from Germany also (Steinbach).
