2025 Transfer Portal Thread

Looks good against bad defenses. Has a long developing shot that might be an issue. I wonder if it can translate?

Might be overstating his shot as slow developing. When he’s wide open he definitely is more deliberate but plenty of shots in that clip show a pretty quick release when defenses are closing on him. Obviously not Chaz quick but it really isn’t slow.

Maybe some will share my concerns after seeing this. Slow release. Below average athleticism even with his current lack of development. Just don't see him being able to defend or get space to required to get his shot off.

I may be WAY off but I'm a little surprised he is getting any looks from power 4 programs.

If he ends up here -- I'll pull for him extremely hard of course. I do hope I'm wrong.

I hear ya. If we do pass I would assume it’s due to concerns about quickness and defense.

Haven't checked but UK is spending top dollar. UConn recruiting over Adams? They must be killing it.
Just because UK spent a bunch doesn’t mean it’s better. We will see. Their big guy is coming off a March ACL tear, and the guard from Pitt was not a great 3 point shooter. Aberdeen and the guy from Bama are good, but it’s not like it’s an automatic FF roster.

We are not out of this Darius Adams race, heard something about a visit calendar prohibiting him from taking an official to either us or Michigan State so it makes sense for him to add two other schools to a visit list. The role and bag is there, one can only hope he realizes that and wants to be a part of something special over here.

I myself said some of those same exact things about Lanier last year. If it goes in it goes in. Last time he suited up he went 8-10 from 3 against the eventual conference champ. No one knows for sure if it will translate, but IMO he’s a take.
Lanier has an extremely quick release. Low but lightning quick.

Idk the full back story but this could be massive with Gainey

Post about this in the Gainey thread, not apples to apples, but good sign. He had a JUCO year much like Pavia, but he asked for a waiver from NCAA and they denied and judge ruled in his favor, so many think it could get the ball rolling for NCAA to just do blanket 5th year

What? If I understand it correctly, it will also be confusing to athletes and will cause some not pay appropriate taxes. It’s only from their school. So, if they make income from a collective or business, it’s taxable.
It said from the use of their NIL is included

So it's subjective? Precisely my point in the response to a post saying we get Chaikin and Gainey giving us "arguably" the best roster in the country. Let's be honest. No one knows what kind of roster we'll have next season and just because we get the flavor of the moment from the portal doesn't mean we'll be cooking with beef tallow. It's a crap shoot.

Well, if the rumblings that he's back on the market because of UConn recruiting someone he perceives as competition are true, it doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy about the kids competitive drive. The SEC isn't a league for the faint of heart. No concern for kids who are looking for guarantees, an easy path and a bag. If he runs from competition in recruiting, what's he gonna do when he's playing against UF in Gainesville or Auburn in the jungle? Nah, I'm not gonna sweat this one. Kid can go somewhere else. He's not SEC material. Yeah...I'm salty tonight.

Vandy at 14 from above projected list? Didn't Vandy lose transfers? And now Vandy is top 15? That alone is ridiculous.
