The presence or absence of off-court issues isn't the sole indicator of character problems. If your best counterpoint to CBM's on-court issues are imaginary hypotheticals where Uros might have done something, that's evidence of a weak argument. No but was it something that would have surprised you? I guess I mean everyone here is talking about Baker Mazara like he’s the devil incarnate but to my knowledge he’s never had any off court issues right?
I think yall are underestimating how much CBM hurts his team with his antics, and overrating how good the 25th-ish ranked freshman is gonna be right away. And I think probably also some sour grapes are causing Freeman and (especially) Rice to be underratedI think it's comparable. CBM is the veteran, and Adams is the young guy with skills. I hate to say it, but I would sign up for it.
Well the Uros thing I brought up because that’s who I originally compared him to but I digress. The presence or absence of off-court issues isn't the sole indicator of character problems. CBM is one of the oldest players in college basketball but also one of the least emotionally mature, and he's been ejected for flagrant fouls at least twice that I can think of, with one coming 3 minutes into an NCAAT game his team lost by 2 points, largely due to how his absence hurt his team.
I wanted Rice, no doubt.I think yall are underestimating how much CBM hurts his team with his antics, and overrating how good the 25th-ish ranked freshman is gonna be right away. And I think probably also some sour grapes are causing Freeman and (especially) Rice to be underrated
His 1 on 1 shot creating ability would also be invaluable to this team as currently constructed.I wanted Rice, no doubt.
I’m not a fan of CBM, no doubt.
I can put all of that aside though and realize that Adams and CBM probably put us in top 5-10. You get experience with Gillespie, CBM, Okpara, Carey, and Phillips. You get crazy skills with Ament and Adams.
CBM has shot 38+ % from 3 the last 3 years. His antics are ridiculous, but he’s been a contributor to successful teams. He gives you shooting and defense.
Lol, Bishop is terrible I'm sorry. I hope he improves, but I'm not expecting anything there...
A lovely human off the court? Do tell. Also, lots of athletes do good things off the court and bad things off the court, too. It’s obvious this guy has lots of issues which you’re willing to dismiss because tigers don’t change their stripes.Well the Uros thing I brought up because that’s who I originally compared him to but I digress.
I don’t think he’s super emotionally mature on the court but I also don’t think two ejections in two years makes him Ron Artest. Without getting too far into it I can tell you (secondhand) that he’s a lovely human off the court too, people are talking about him on here like he’s the damn Zodiac
I mean, I think people are probably being overdramatic about how much he hurts them because they don't like him. His team went 32-6, got a #1 seed, cruised to the SEC Championship, and went to the Final Four, where he had 18 points. There's not a lot of harm to go around in a season like that.I think yall are underestimating how much CBM hurts his team with his antics, and overrating how good the 25th-ish ranked freshman is gonna be right away. Not even close to enough shooting if that’s our final roster. I will say our big men (if healthy) look like they can be lethalI mean our roster is pretty good...
Guards:
Ja'Kobi
Bishop
Evans
Henderson
Forwards:
Ament
Carey
Felix
Cade
JP
Brown
You add a high rated HS talent that can be a day 1 starter (like Adams) and then another wing player that's a veteran (CBM technically fits) and that's going to be a really strong team. Still the looming uncertainty of 5th year and 15 spots...IF you get the 5th year then you bring back at least Gainey and we're cooking IMO...plus it makes quite a few portal prospects far more valuable as options too.
And the year before his team lost in the first round bc he couldn’t contain his emotionsI mean, I think people are probably being overdramatic about how much he hurts them because they don't like him. Travis Perry is an excellent player and is an ELITE shooter. He was not put in a good situation this year at Kentucky. First, the jump from HS ball to College is difficult for a non-athlete. You have to adjust your game rather than rely on innate athleticism. So I knew the learning curve would be high for Perry. Second, he had to play out of position as a PG due to injuries on UK's roster. We literally were down our top 4 PG options at one point in the season. Perry is not a PG. What he is good at is shooting. We do know that from HS, from AAU, and from practice. He is an ELITE shooter. But that's on spot-up 3 pointers. Think catch and shoot.I wouldn’t be mad at looking at Travis Perry. He could give you 8 to 10 minutes and a quality shooter as a backup.
We got the Maryland player we wanted the most. We also have added really good -layers this year. In fact, I would be surprised if we are not better than last year’s team.I wanted Rice, no doubt.

Some players are intense competitors on the court and occasionally pop their jersey, punch a phone, etc. I guarantee if he dons the orange you’ll learn to love him.A lovely human off the court? 2 of those 3 you mentioned most likely will not be playing big minutes. Idk why that’s so hard to comprehend? It’s also unfair/ unrealistic to expect them to be our source of 3pt shooting.Explain what the bold means...
It seems you're basing that on what their stats are in college only. Because Ament, Henderson, even Evans are all good shooters.
I think he (Boswell) has a good grasp of what Barnes wants on both ends of the floor. I'm not sure he can execute it on a consistent basis that warrants meaningful PT. I think he's a projected 3rd year guy that might start showing production. Right now he's getting recruited over or at least that's what it seems. Love for him to prove me wrong.Lol, Bishop is terrible I'm sorry. I hope he improves, but I'm not expecting anything there...
