We aren’t countering any further with Rice. Doing so would throw other deals we have or would force us to recalibrate. USC has supposedly matched the Nova money as a straight number. Obviously all these teams see a big upside for Rice, but the dollars don’t make sense. He’s either going to listen to his heart and come play with Gillespie or take the mercenary bucks. Should be over soon. If I get a clear signal, I’ll obviously share it. We aren’t all the way out, but as I said last week, it’s been a knife fight.

He’s a good player but no way in hell is he worth around 3-4 million.
