If it was about the highest dollar he’d have probably committed to USC on the visit or right after, maybe he ultimately chooses there, but we are in the mix for him and aren’t close to being the highest bidder, or 2nd highest. He wants to be here imo, but it’s hard to ask a kid to likely pass on life altering money, the delay is a leverage play to try and get Tennessee's number closer to the other schools, whether that works or not is TBDYeah, I’ve basically given up on Rice. It was clear after he started scheduling additional visits after he left campus that he wasn’t that serious about us anymore. It’s not usually a good sign when they add more visits after their last scheduled one is over. It has become about the highest dollar.

If we can make it close then go do it, he’s the missing piece. If it was about the highest dollar he’d have probably committed to USC on the visit or right after, maybe he ultimately chooses there, but we are in the mix for him and aren’t close to being the highest bidder, or 2nd highest. This is kind of how I feel. Seems like he wants to be at Tennessee but the money difference is not insignificant. Either he changes he views on how low he'd accept to come here, vols go up closer to other schools, or he goes somewhere else.If it was about the highest dollar he’d have probably committed to USC on the visit or right after, maybe he ultimately chooses there, but we are in the mix for him and aren’t close to being the highest bidder, or 2nd highest. Laugh all you want to, but news cycles are factors in timing for parents, players, schools and agents. Inevitably some will wait because things aren’t moving the direction they want. But I can assure you we are going to hear/see alot of movement between now and Wednesday night. And then it will go (mostly) silent until next week. The good news is he will be committing tomorrow and we can put it behind us... ya know, because the news cycle will be shifting to the NBA Playoffs and the NFL Draft... lmao
