My insiders are saying that Rice will be holding a zoom with UT tomorrow in an attempt to give the Vols one last chance to match his offer from USC.

I am told we are not willing/able to budge from our current offer and unless he is bluffing, he is likely to commit to USC tomorrow.

There was a poster who said Phillips was heading to the portal, and didn’t SF say there’s a situation he can’t talk about with one of our big men? I’m assuming things have changed and that’s no longer the case ??

I responded to the guy who said Cade was leaving because others asked if it referred to my previous statement that we might lose one or two bigs for reasons I can’t discuss. I can’t/don’t discuss the health or personal matters of players. Both of the guys in question are A+ humans, committed teammates and would only miss the season due to matters they can’t control. In each instance it’s something that l’m not comfortable giving tips and clues about. I’m more optimistic about it than I was six weeks ago when I brought it up, but neither situation is fully resolved. I don’t think saying that violates anyone’s privacy. If a news story comes out, I’ll happily confirm it. Otherwise I have to respect their privacy.

Thanks, SF. This is just further confirmation that JCVol is full of it, as he was implying Phillips is hitting the portal because of playing time. Sounds like the players you’re talking about are dealing with personal matters.
