I trust Rick on these kinds of issues for sure. And I agree with him…I definitely would not want to spend all that time and energy around those types of people (I don’t care how talented they are). Character and integrity count a ton and the profanity laced ignorance is a HUGE RED FLAG.

They signed two bigs, the 6'10" PF from Mississippi State and a 7 footer JUCO player who was his conference's DPOY. After weight training and gaining more muscle, he could be a defensive monster. They are comparing him to Walker Kessler.

Believe me, I’d love to have him at Kentucky, but I just don’t see it. We are having difficulty landing our last guard and I think it’s because we are already crowded. We have our starting PG in Jaland Lowe (Pitt transfer), Jasper Johnson (5 Star), Travis Perry (4 Star from last years class), Oweh most likely if he comes back which he probably will, plus a couple SF in Trent Noah and Kam Williams. Aberdeen was poised to start at Florida so I can’t see him leaving that for a situation where he may not start or, if he does, would play around 20-22 MPG. Pope only plays our starters about 25 MPG so we have to find that right fit. That’s why Wilkerson ultimately chose Indiana (better fit for him as a player). Or, you can find that stud, but he has to buy in to less minutes for a potential FF run.

Did Barnes necessarily say he was passing on Freeman because he sometimes uses profanity, or is that something that you've decided based on conjecture from a video the other guy watched of him cursing whilst hooping?

It sure did look as if we were definitely considering the guy before another team made an almost half-million dollar more offer.
Call me crazy, but that very well may have had something to do with Freeman not coming here.

No. That one poster is freaking out because he was allegedly playing 2 on 2 for $1000 on IG live. And players were cussing (lol). Someone forgot to tell ZZ that Barnes doesn’t allow profanity.

Ah there it is lol. There was a guy on here that was asking what's so bad about plying 2v2 basketball and everyone was saying it didn't fit Barnes culture lol

Yeah, until I hear someone close to Barnes make it known we decided not to counter offer the Auburn offer because bro could have a potty mouth problem, I'm going to assume we didn't feel his play on the court was worth potentially getting into a bidding war that almost assuredly would have had us paying close to a million more than we wanted to spend on him.

These young guys all get together and hoop and I know it might be absolutely shocking to some, but they cuss and sh!t talk when doing it.
Also shocking news, they don't always play 5 on 5.

It was far beyond the profanity & usage of G-D in the video. I seen a guy who portays himself as a punk & still in the streets. Maybe not a fact that he is in the streets, but the mannerisms says a lot with how u portray yourself to the world in a 2v2 pickup game playing for a wad of cash. Tell me a Vol to go live doing that? Vol commits are held to a higher standard & not that immature on their social medias. A lot of growing up to do.

The move happened for a reason...
•At the 5 - Estrella/ Okpara
•At the 4 - Carey/ Phillips
-With Brown possibly pushing for mins

•At the 3 - Nate Ament (we were not going to get both Freeman & Ament either way)
-Ament is likely a 25-30 minute player year 1 ... Freeman won't like getting 10-15 minutes.

Overall, it was a good move! I really like Boswells & Amaris versatility to guard multiple wing positions to come off the bench. I think Boswell can be a defensive boost off the bench who can guard 1-3 & primarily play off the ball. No "need" for Freeman when we land Ament! 🙏
