SF already said earlier today that Auburn came in with an offer yesterday evening that was $400K over ours and would probably win out

To be really clear, neither Freeman or Rice are officially dead. Freeman got an offer from Auburn 400k higher than us last night. That’s bad, but we may stay in. Rice is still believed to be coming here by most reporters, but Willard keeps dialing up offers to his agent. It needs to close soon, or we’ll let go.

Vol Fans, I think you guys will be fine. Still thousands of players who haven’t picked a school yet and more dominoes may fall. Plus you guys consistently overachieve via scheme and team defense, so getting the top ranked players isn’t always what you guys need (or want, if the chemistry isn’t there) under Barnes. Remember, most schools would trade places with you in a heartbeat with 2 consecutive elite 8s.

I have not seen a single credible (or non credible, tbh) mock that has him as a lottery pick. I’d love to see your sources on that, because there is a zero percent chance he’s a lottery pick.

He does have an inch and 4 pounds on KC, if you look at both of their listed college sizes. That’s not much when you’re looking at a lead guard in the NBA that’s around 6 ft tall. They’re both tiny. Tahaad definitely is more athletic and a better scorer off the bounce, but it’s extremely hard to see anyone taking him in the first half of the 1st round when the track record of guys that size succeeding is so rare.

Well, RJ Lewis is visiting Auburn who is a SF and would probably start if he goes there. They already signed the SF out of UCF who was the Big 12 leading scorer if I'm not mistaken. None of that stopped Freeman from choosing Auburn. We really are going off of speculation at this point. Still hoping Ament comes.

Thanks good post. I will be happy with whoever we can add. Ament and Rice would be great and we should have million more to spend now that Freeman off the board. Chiakin probably more realistic.
