I don’t believe that for one second. There is no way a team is offering 5 million for Rice. There’s just no way.

I don’t believe that. Why would USC even do that? It’s not like he’s the missing piece to a final 4. They don’t have that kind of money and even if they did, blowing it on one guy who isn’t a top 10 player would make no sense.

Why would Cade leave? He’s likely getting a good NIL package now, has played in back to back elite eights, at a school he loves with a staff that fits his faith well and has the potential to get minutes regardless of who we add because Rick trust him & he rewards hard workers.

If Cade wanted to be a starter he wouldn’t have picked TN to begin with. He wanted to come be coached & develop. I’m more worried JP hangs it up because of his constant foot issues. But in this NIL era anything can happen. Hope we don’t lose Cade though he’s a glue guy big time

As a thought experiment for “why would Cade leave” here is what I can come up with…

- He is willing to take less money to get more playing time.

- His NIL package is going down this year as a way to pay for the incoming players.

- He is offered more money to play or start somewhere than we can afford for a deep bench player

I don't think anyone of these guys necessarily have a set date to do anything other than enter the portal while they still can, and of course make their decision before the maximum deadline.

It feels like we’re not coming out on top here in any case. I’d love to be pleasantly surprised, but if USC really is offering this much money, I don’t see it ending any other way unfortunately.

I don’t know much, but people have posted that they have kind of a logjam at the wing position. Their top scorer was a junior guard- Desmond Claude. They have two top 45 shooting guards commited and a combo guard transfer. I don’t see why they would be desperate.

I know we recruited him out of high school, but I’ve not watched him play.

Evan Miya hates him fwiw. I know some don’t put stock into that. But he is ranked 787 on there.

Also strange that his 3p% is so low when his dad is widely considered to be one of the greatest 3 point shooters of all-time.

This is a scene straight out of Blue Chips where the booster says it's a nuclear surfboard. No CFB QB1 has gotten that much. A solid sophomore definitely isn't getting it. AJ Dybantsa, the number one player in this class, reportedly got less than $4 million after initial headlines suggested the number was "close to $7 million." Basically, he got half, and I guess somebody rounded up. And if Rice is eyeing the pros at all, which he should be, he won't be signing a two-year deal.
