I choose to find the humor in the whole thing. It's like Nico said, "I may want to see other people." And we're like, "Hey, that's great! I've already got a date lined up tonight anyway!" He 100% asked for a raise, and our coaching staff said, "We think you're overpaid already. We can do better for about the same money."
People are going to complain about it from now until the end of time, but this is college sports now. At the risk of dating myself, I was helping football players in the early 90s. It was infuriating watching the university make so much money off them while they weren't able to afford a Happy Meal. I'm here for this change. It's a very good thing. And sometimes, silliness like this is gonna happen.
I mean, Georgia just watched their wildly overrated, injured QB get a pay raise to head to Miami and be with his much richer girlfriend. And the universe found it amusing to have somebody steal their six-figure automobiles right afterward. You just gotta laugh at all of it.
Just spent thirty seconds in the football forum reading up on Nico, and never want to go back there again.
Cannot wait to get JP back. One of the most skilled inside players we’ve had here in a while. Was excited to see how involved he remained with the team the entire year (always present / always seeming to be supportive and engaged). Are Cade and JP jokes to you? Lol I see big jumps with them next year.

JP
Freeman off the bench is who I’d personally have. If JP is healthy I see him beating out Okpara. I thought I remember seeing that he was better than Okpara in the summer?
Certainly not nationwide. It’d be big news among our fans, but the national media wouldn’t have cared overly much.If ZZ had decommitted from us like Nico do you think it's as big a news story?
Nico way overhyped IMO.Certainly not nationwide. It’d be big news among our fans, but the national media wouldn’t have cared overly much.
He just lacks much of the national notoriety that Nico has. He never had any of his hype, and was certainly never expected to be a first round pick like Nico is hyped up to be.
He's not going to impress from a simple watch. From talking to Bama people I know, he was their version of Mashack if you will. Should fit into Kentucky considering Bama likes to run somewhat similar things. Kentucky adding a top-notch 6'7 wing defender to complement their offense could end up being importantI'm just not overly impressed with the bama transfer. Not saying he's a bad player, just not a game changer.
I'd much rather spend it on basketball. This is definitely pessimistic, but after the Ohio State football game...what's the point? It's so much more expensive to field a championship football team than basketball. You don't have to be the largest spender in basketball to compete for a championship, just smart with your $. Landing 1-2 guys like Knecht (if they exist) can carry you. Lanier was an excellent pickup as well. Football will never get there. Evidently Barnes and staff can find these players...give him what he needs to bring in who he wants.
