Interesting updates. What's the story with Jaland Lowe?

Also -- for whatever reason my favorite player in the portal is Gabriel Pozzato. Excited to see his name bolded. Can you offer any insight there?

Thanks

Lowe is either Miami or UK bound (apparently). Great player though, needs to work on not chucking shots up.

With UK missing out on Yaxel, I’d say they will land Alvaro, they will probably overpay to get him.

Is Steen the only other 4 we’re recruiting?

I don't care what size someone is, if they can cook us like Carey did,k owing our defense, I want them in a heartbeat
Every team needs some tough guyst. Call 'em an enforcer or goon if you will, but teams need an attitude and toughness about them. Houston had that in spades. Carey looks like a guy who likes to mix it up down low. Works for me. Houston might not win it, but man, I do love the way they play the game. Any team that beats them will earn it and know they were in a war.

Carey and id say either Ament or another forward transfer, idk who though

Is Ament a 4 though? He’s the same size roughly as Freeman, and I remember someone saying that Freeman was to small to play the 4, wouldn’t that be the case with Ament?

I figured Ament would play the 3 with his athleticism. Maybe Freeman is more athletic.

Either way, I do want Ament.

How quickly some forget that, I’m a bit surprised by the Carey reaction from some

I’m not sure if you’re referring to Tugler or Roberts, but either way seems a bit unrealistic to think that’s the type of production we’ll get out of Carey. Both of those guys are elite in something. Tugler was a NDPOY finalist.

I think Ament is closer to 6’10.

Where the Ament optimism coming from? IF we land Carey today that’s a potential lineup combo in the post of Okpara-Carey. That’s A LOT of offensive rebounding, and he is a guy that can go get a bucket in the paint. I would rather have a stretch 4 out there, but can’t complain if Okpara-Carey-Gillespie are 3 of the 5 starters next year.

I don’t think that’s what he expects, but he averaged pretty much 10ppg and 6rpg in conference play this year. That’s pretty solid production from a first year SEC player. Hes strong, he’s a good offensive rebounder, and he is a high energy post player. I would love the addition to the team! Carey would be solid under Rick Barnes.

Both are just names that Tennessee has had good dialogue with over the past 24-36 hours

Ament is a definite 3 as far as skill-set and mentality.

Could he play the 4? As much as any other 6'9-6'10 player. I mean, we often played Mashack there with our 4 guard lineups. Ament is not strong yet.

In fact, I wonder if his interest in Tennessee is due to our wide open spot at the 3. Duke has signed multiple forwards. Louisville has 4 big time guards coming in so you would think many 3 guard looks.

Tennessee makes sense for Ament IMO. I bet he'd prefer to be guarded by a 3 than a 4

We could certainly do worse. He may prove to be a huge asset. It’s not like I can project the future. I just think he’s a bit overvalued, but my opinion of him will likely depend on what we finish this class out with.

If we get Ament then his addition makes complete sense, and I’ll feel great about it. I do think Ament will be at the 3 if we land him. We will have a lot more length if we can land him. I just hope Ament isn’t a pipe dream

Ament is 6’10” pushing 6’11”, he’s gonna have to play the 4 most likely in college imo, maybe even some stretch uptempo 5
