Based on the timeline, I don't think he was there. KC moved from Briarcrest to Sunrise in 2020. He was TN Mr. Basketball in his sophomore and junior years. Rod Clark left Sunrise in 2019 to take the Illinois-Chicago job. But, I assume that Clark still knew the staff there.Wasn’t Rod Clark a coach at Sunrise Christian when Kennedy Chandler was there?
Back in the day you would see guys get hired as Head Coaches because they were a high school HC and had AAU connections. Oh wait.... that's only Penny Hardaway.Back in the pre-NIL days, you’d see assistants get hired all the time primarily due to a connection or ability to bring a specific recruit in for that year.
Idk if that’s really a thing anymore.
UCSD likes to run and get shots up so it will suit him well. With that being said, will also be keeping him on my personal radar. Not sure if he's trying to earn more by going to a top mid major program or not, but we shall seeI wish him well, I will be circling back hyping him up for next year's transfer portal haul if he does lol
KC committed in August of 2020 and signed his NLI in November of 2020. Rod Clark was hired in April of 2021 after Desmond Oliver and Kim English left. So, Rod Clark didn’t recruit KC to UT. Kim English was a big reason why KC came to UT.100% we don't get KC without Rod Clark. He was his coach at Mokan Elite. Coached nba all star guys like Tyrese Maxey too.

I stand 100% corrected that Kim English was his main recruiter to TN, and not Rod... even though KC didn't end up playing for English... still tho, Rod & Chandler had a coach / player connection at Mokan before they both were at TN. Either way Rod done a fantastic job here in Knoxville. Grateful for the work he put inKC committed in August of 2020 and signed his NLI in November of 2020. Lamar Wilkerson? Did he de-commit from Indiana?Out of the blue/need more coffee/random thought of the morning, but I can't shake the idea of us pulling a rabbit outta the hat and grabbing Wilkerson. Might be channeling my inner Trippie again or trying to speak this into existence? Just can't help myself with this one.
