Is Abram more of a PG or SG? not really familiar with his game
He’s played 1-3, capable PG, but SG is his best fit for both him and us imo, as well as backup PG to spell Gillespie. He’s not Knecht or Lanier, totally get that, but he’s another option with probably a pretty high floor.

One is a freshman and the other a seasoned veteran, that is considered a lock down defender, we’ve seen this movie before I feel like.
Dubar was also seasoned veteran who had a better statistical profile than Abram.. If we bring him in that’s about the role I would expect him to play imo.. Not saying don’t add him for depth if he fits the culture. But definitely not a needle mover..

Massamba is a guy who possesses traits very few in our program have ever had. Reminds me of Keon Johnson in that short highlight film.

The News Sentinel is now reporting on tomorrow’s meeting with Amaree as well. I’m not sure what to think about this one. On the one hand, we are desperate and just need anyone who can contribute at the 2 spot. On the other, it’s not exactly the Final Four caliber player we were hoping to get.

Amaree had a pretty productive freshman season at Ole Miss, followed by a very underwhelming year at Georgia Tech, where he barely played. I don’t know if that’s due to injury or what. One positive is that he’s supposed to be a very intense defender, so I suppose he fits the Barnes mold in that regard.

1.7 assists and 1.9 turnovers per game last year.. Don’t like that in any league but especially coming from a mid major.

I mean i actually like the pickup, but that’s assuming we can get another 2 guard or Gainey is back

Also shot 37% from 3PT at Ole Miss his freshman season, and 37.7% at LA Tech his Junior season.

Not certain what happened to him at Georgia Tech, only played in 10 games… looks like he had a rough go there.

I mean Dubar never averaged 8ppg at a HM, or even 1/3 of that, and CUSA is much better than CAA or whatever Hofstra is now. My outlook is I would take him over Boswell, Evans or Henderson at the 2 almost certainly, so worst case is it’s another option and someone has to be better than what he is to beat him out, and that’s not a bad floor.

I don’t worry much about turnovers with incoming guys, sometimes it’s a system and sometimes guys are asked to do too much, we’ve been very good on that department under Barnes.

I am fine with Amare. He will compete and actually looks to have a pretty smooth lefty stroke. We are reaching desperation levels, but I would still love to add a Chaikin to this mix. I hate that we seem to be out on Darius Adams as well.
