2025 Transfer Portal Thread

247 says the portal is closed. 247 "The college basketball transfer portal closed Tuesday morning with 87 of the top 100 prospects committed to new schools. A look at the top 15 overall transfer classes — which includes elite groups at Michigan, Kentucky and North Carolina — proves that decisiveness and adaptability are rewarded in the portal."

Is that not correct? How do we fill up the roster if the portal is closed and still have roster spots open?
If you're in the portal when it closes, you can still commit somewhere. If you're not in the portal, you're stuck with your team unless you're a grad transfer.

Could be wrong though--I was wrong in 1942 once

I’m a little surprised more schools aren’t going international routes, I think NIL is limited on those guys as to how much they can get, Illinois and St. John’s are 2 teams stocking up on those guys. Even just 2-3 quality international guys that are rotation pieces probably saves you $4-$5m to use elsewhere.
International players, on a student visa, cannot get any NIL money currently.

Already happened. Just not for us. Rice was one of the two possible for today. And it broke the wrong way. Was literally 50/50 until today. The other one is more certain, but CRB is playing chess with that piece and playing out contingencies in the overall gameplan with Rice out of the picture.

Rice was not going to turn down an extra Million Dollars. I wouldn't either

Barnes has already said that Boswell has finally figured it out and is coming on strong.
He's really good and will earn run just from his defense alone. Jahmai Mashack barely played as a freshman too. His role ended up being crucial on & off the court & we will see Boswell carve out a role in year 2. Everyone seems to count him out which is weird
