I know there was talk at one point of being able to afford Freeman and Rice, is Adams more expensive than the money that was freed up from one of those?

I guess that’s the balance of either spend a lot on a freshman or hope to take that Freeman and Rice money and go get 2 quality guys from the portal

Probably $2.5-$3m freed up from those 2, probably enough to at least be in the conversation. Question then becomes do you have anything at all left to add 1 more or not.

I’d take the risk, offer this kid the money, then hope the rule get approved so Gainey can come back.

Yeah that’s about what I was thinking, it’s hard to justify spending that much money on 1 freshman when we really could use 2 more shooters/scorers on the rosters

Yup, obviously some level of risk involved there, also the question on is that enough $$$ to eventually land him or do you get strung along and miss on others in the meantime

Recruits are limited to only one official visit per school, he was here in September. So any OVs he takes now would be to schools he hasn't previously visited.

I'm not a fan of these 5 star one and done types, but if the kid was good enough for the likes of UConn, I say get him and roll him out there with Ament. Probably Barnes final season, so just roll the dice and go for it. Heck, it's not like college basketball does "development" anymore. Go for it.
